Hi everyone! Can you help me please? I am looking to buy a new laptop but I can´t decide so I am here asking for your help. My budget is 400-500€. The laptop will not be used for playing games. I will use it for assignments above all. Thank you for your time
well i mean... im not an expert or anything but if u work as a graphics designer u might want some different specs than if u just do homework on it... cuz i mean assignments could be anything really
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Notebookcheck-s-Top-10-Laptops-under-500-Euros.124349.0.html Notebookcheck has really detailed reviews of each laptop they do, so its a good start to check. Chromebooks are also a good choice if you don't need many apps and just want to use the basics with no frills. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Notebookcheck-s-Top-10-Chromebooks.150594.0.html
of you just use it for looking stuff up, writing essays, making power points and spread sheets and stuff i would look for a chromebook or something similar. for brand acer, asus, are personal faves.
If it will be used just for typing up assignments and not anything at all intensive, you may want to look into the surface go. Add in its keyboard and it's not a bad choice for school. It's just an option I'm throwing out, check it out if your interested. It's roughly 430 euro after doing the conversion.

Do you have any size or weight requirements? How much battery life do you need?Does it need to run Windows? What about screen size, panel type, or resolution? 500 Euros is about $560. If you take VAT out of that, you're looking at about $500. For $500, you can get any number of laptops that will meet your needs. To try to winnow out laptops that don't meet your needs, you'll need to provide a bit more information about what it is that you need and what you don't want.
ye for 500 you can get a laptop that you can play games on too maybe not like at high and xtreme settings but like at low and med i would go to a eletronic store that sells laptops and look at the sizes. i would rec 11” dunno about the conversion. any screen bigger the laptop gets and feels pretty big try to look for something durable and reliable.
If you never have used a laptop some key points: Will you travel, walk with it long ways i whould prefer a smaller one for walks do you have access to power on travel or uni/school if only travel on train you could use a bigger one. Next what kind of monitor its use lcd, plasma, with extra glass etc this is a big factor on a watching quallity imo more then the graphic card on it in long run like how long living is each "monitor" and how does it present itself on sunny day... The next is the Keybord konfiguration not all are the same some got some extra keys like "thinkpads". If its only for film and text or powerpoint you dont need a exta good one even a second hand one whould do HD quallity but there you should look after rebrushed one mean the keybord-keys are new the fan from cooling system is clean and perhapse new accu on it.
If its just for that then i recommend a chrome book. You have the entire google suite at your disposal, you have the android office suite and any linux program you want!
This thread hasn't been active in over a month. I'd hope the OP has chosen a laptop by now. What makes people resurrect dead threads like this one?
Because people just dont pay attention to the date stamps. Could be worse though. I've seen multi-year necros before.
