I mean buying licenses without paying for it is strange... no wonder they try to get the license for whatever novel appears on their site, they are BUYING IT WITHOUT PAYING! The bastards!

Qidian are targeting more readers than just this community, which is pretty obvious by their choice of domain. Readers on NU act like they are the golden children when Qidian probably don't care. They also understand that the community grows because it's free but growing a customerbase of users that don't pay anything isn't a very solid business model.

 

lol, im just saying the truth. And ya i think my last few points are a bit biased, because both Qidian and WXW approached me to get my novel to their site, but one says he will just split ad-revenue in which they get the majority, and one said they will pay 4000$ for old chapters and 40$ per future chap

The reason I feel disappointed is why did they make it public?? They could take more peaceful way and should not drag the readers and fans into this problem.

ya ik, honestly i think its a bad move by qidian. But i guess there are always some impulsive ppl in a company that does something and ruins the whole company's image

Also remember reading somewhere that the parent company of this is Tencent, rich @ss niqqas, so many even paying them to actually say something? After all, people like money, but this guy said he would give it for free - Hmm, i kinda want to doubt that but idk. ~ just some Bull shyt .

 

The problem is that the translators and editors will be translating and editing for shit because there will barely be any subscribers. Most people read CN novels because it's free cheesy entertainment. When we have to pay then we might as well buy a western fantasy book from an author like Patrick Rothfuss or Brandon Sanderson.

Qidian will destroy this community and when they cut their losses and leave all those editors and translators will have lost their projects because Qidian will still own the copyright to them.
