Can't say I agree with you. Sure it does follow along with a few popular troupes Spoiler going to another world, unique powers, cultivation. but that is not what I would define as a cliche parody cancer. What I was referring to is stories where the author seems to deliberately avoid originality. Where they force together every overused cliche as if trying to create some obscene frankenstein's monster. Where there is no actual story, just a list of every cliche the author knows. Fallen Star of Evolution does not fit into that category. Yes the author does borrow a few troupes here and there, but they are either small irrelevant parts, or done in such a way that they feel new and unique. What is most important though is the story has the ability stand on its own, it has the occasional cliche, but it is not made of cliche's.
I am disappointed. No one recommended the good ones. Don't Feed the Dark - Apocalypse themed. The writing is god damn awesome. Absolutely superior to any of the typical shit in RRL. +1 on Loser of Tarinath - Virtual reality type novel. Also highly recommended Necromancer - Old. A remnant of the golden age of RRL. And I think it's finished. Don't Fear the Reaper - Also from the golden age. VRMMO. Must read. (Dominated the top spot of Best Rated in RRL for a few years)
I found you another list in RRL forums this time by j0nn0. It's 70+ titles with activity tags if you want to know if it's active, hiatus, completed, or mia. Link to thread
Thread like that is pretty cool with not so obvious and popular story , and i like Necromancer , 4 years old story Oo , got to read that
The Vespidian (RRL) Super hero story about Vesper, a girl who gets turned into a Wasp Monster and tries to be a hero, despite looking like a villain and making children cry just from seeing her. It is a weird, funny, dark, and imaginative story. Currently in the top 200 on RRL.
