...rant warning... I have found a few stories now that I have decided to put down and drop reading even though I was hooked. They, the writer, seemed to think that it was a great idea to axe all the current characters and start a new story in the same universe, mid story... WHY? If you have super well developed characters why replace them? I don't mean like killing one of the characters, I mean abandoning all the characters with no explanations. Do they expect people to magically approve/empathize with the new characters that we don't know? What about the characters we have come to love and pick up the book expecting to get more of them! Also the excuse of, "but you didn't give them a chance is bs", they had a chance in a non existent transition to sell me on that. But wait... oh that right there wasn't one (sarcasm)! I get it if there is at least a break in volumes to explain the jarring plot direction, but pls add prolog with at least some hint of explanation!
