Spoiler: vol 1 and 5 Yes, I read the first one then jumped to the end. So far most people seem crazy... Her dad is insane... He would lock her up in a dark room and not feed her for a week. He beats her and wants to sell her before letting her go to the crown prince. As in make her sleep with someone who pays the price and carry their baby for a year... The servants in the house are all opportunists who prey on the weak. They abused Reinhardt and ignore valetta the MC when they could. Reinhardt is freaking insane as well...he murdered everyone in the household in the most gruesome way possible. He is obsessed with valetta so he took her to the wizard tower and trapped her there. He has the ability to turn back time so he killed some wizard by decapitation then put him back together... The wizard challenged his authority. So far the only decent person is the crown prince... He liked valetta. He didn't love her but said that he would treat her with respect after they got married and they could be friends. He tried very hard to find her when she was taken by Reinhardt. He wished for her safety. Valletta seems to be super op in her own way. She is an alchemist and a spirits user. She can summon high ranking spirits without contract. Well she is trapped in the tower and is looking for a way out... The girl just wanna be free but all the guys want to trap her one way or another... Sighhhhhh She ended up with the psycho Reinhardt... He is still insane and kills people with no remorse.. Stockholm syndrome for real...
So, initial spoilers claim CP to be a villain but emphasized spoilers on early novel show he's the 2nd most decent person after MC. Kinda surprised MCs dad is evil. I say kinda because, if he's abusive, why would he even gift his abused daughter something that wouldn't benefit him, if he's gonna marry her off, why give her a slave?
He prolly did that on a whim.. He considered valetta his and everything hers is his even her alchemy skill. He would get super mad when she used it without his permission and locked her up or hang her up side down from the ceiling. She was his golden goose....
