On a more serious note, remember that the story is told from the MC's point of view so he is always the hero and everyone else the villian. flip the script and everyone else is righteous and the mc is the villian....

all xuanhuan novels have asshole characters...what do you expect? Everybody's courting death because they did something to insult their honour, pride etc etc. Typical shit

 

Think of it this way, most authors wouldn't want their MC to appear as a villian so what's a good way to deal with it? Make everyone else huge assholes

Well, lots CN with linear character are just like that. And if we look at MC from other POV, they would be super arsehole and annoying. The main different between protagonist and antagonist are just the plot armor. Disciple died yet again, History strongest senior brother, and couples more of novels could illustrate that.

 

Oh and once the MC gets into a sect/clan/family? You better bet that everyone there is an asshole too until he gains control of it ofcourse... Or destroys it.

 

This is why i love emperor's domination, because the most around arrogant person in that novel is the main character, and his followers.

 

Most Xianxia MCs are assholes too. Doesn't stop people from liking them though. ISSTH proves that.

 

I guess its the standard for most novels. The top novels are not like that in China. IET, Er Gen, and Wang Yu doesn't do that everybody is an asshole thing. I mean you will see some arrogant noble once in a while but not a lot.

Mc is shit too, he rape the fox girl, steal the item from treasure sect, steal treasure of others and when they try to get the treasure back, he just kill and run, etc... Mc is one of the vilains, so if u think in this way, u will see that all limitless world is full of assholes (a side of king pill sect)

 

that's because those people, the assholes, are canon fodder for the MC to show his awesomeness. The mc's friends serve to do the same, but in a different way. the harem? eh. they are the harem, they for fanservice and to stroke the MC's ego. Among other things.

 

Because the authors are lazy.

 

It's fictional, even inanimate objects have the right to be assholes.
