Question Is it the same author?

Hi there pretty people (and or other species)

I read nearly all of mtl End of the magic era and realized that it was not completed... (well there are raws with a bunch more chapters but I decided not to waste my brain cells... further), really good read though.
Anyway then I looked at recommendations and saw A wizard’s secret.

My question: are the two novels written by the same author (well the name is different, but it could be just another pen name?), coz the first two paragraphs of A wizard’s secret has similar nameS (and the second one completely the same) as one of the characters in the End of the magic era.

And, well, the plot (judging from the description on NU) is sort of similar for the two novels.

Or do CN authors just get together in a room and brainstorm together then write their novels? I had that feeling before for some xanxia novels, but these two paragraphs just got me even more “suspicious”...
