    Its not the oldest jp novel nor was it the first another world novel.
    But it was a popular one that made the term isekai popular at the time.

    Define "Oldest JP Novel". Truth to be told I don't know. But mushoku tensei is considered 'new' in my recognition.

    The Manyoshu. 759AD. The tale of Urashima Taro came from there where the fisherman saved a turtle and was carried by it to another world "under the sea". Isakei anyone?

    but ive known inuyasha and magic sumthin ray earth and fuushigi yuugi going isekai

    dragon ball, literally isekai ( as in another planet )hahahah

    Mushoku Tensei is the oldest Japanese webnovel that is of the "isekai" (life in a different world) genre, and that has been fully translated into English. It's not the first JP webnovel translated into English. It's also not the first isekai *story*, just one of the first in webnovel form (there have been other isekai-like stories in manga and anime form before Mushoku Tensei). It's not even the first isekai webnovel that was written, as Zero no Tsukaima came before it. But Mushoku finished first.

    EDIT: The real question is where you draw the line between "isekai" and non-isekai. The questionable boundaries are in terms of transference process (direct summoning, transmigration of soul, reincarnation after death by truck, etc.), and world setting (fantasy only? Sci-fi? Magic but with mecha? Virtual reality?)

    mushoku tensei is the father of isekai novel but it doesn't its the oldest.
    mushoku tensei is a milestone, the start of isekai era

    Np it is not. The first depends on whether you consider SAO isekai or not. If so SAO, if not Zero no Tsukaima. SAO started in 2002 while Zero no Tsukaima was 2010 both before Mushoku Tensei (2012)

    MT webnovel start 2012, a lot WN title are published before that. Example is Knights & Magic 2010, Gate series 2006, etc.

    Nope, it just MT are made when the genre boom at its peak.
