$25 a month is pretty cheap. I hope the price doesn't increase. I thought I'm gonna spend hundreds of dollars to unlock all. This is way better than sponsoring $20-50 per chapter. I can also support those who worked hard for what I read.

I don't think it's healthy, they should fully translate a novel and then sell it, not sell it in tiny increments which force the user to be a money cow ready for milking.

You know how much I spent on that game I mentioned? over 2400$, I had a problem and what qidan is doing is very similar to the games today that are design milk you to the last cent, they create a pitfall for you to fall in and once you're addicted, you just can't help but keep throwing money at it.

This is no longer about supporting the author, it's plain greed.

You can still read it for free with daily Spirit Stones just like you can play mobile games with microtransactions for free.

... As for them fully translating a novel and selling it... You can simply wait until they fully translate it, buy a whole month of subscription to their site, and then binge read said novel in one go.

You'll have only paid 25$ for the novel and still supported the translators. Feels like a good deal to me.

I despise QI because of the acts they've committed, and the acts they will most likely commit again in the future. People who whine about piracy are missing the entire goda#n point.

Other people have broken down QI's paystructure to show OEN authors get under 9 cents per dollar revenue, and translators get shafted because they usually get only a fixed payment per word, which is wildly variable. In either case, the vast majority of income - estimated at 80-90% - supports QI, not authors or translators.

 

Just like apple product. What you pay doesn't nescessarily reflect the product value, supply and demand
