    There's also Mushoku Tensei, but I haven't read the novels you read to know your definition of in control.
    There's also that useless magic highschooler guy, I am not sure if he's in control or if it's because he is too Mary sue and the author bends backward for the sueness. Nidome no Yuusha and Tsuyokute New Saga may for. Both heroes are on their second run.

    While the MC of Sevens is similar to many JP MC's (and he's totally similar to Tatara from Welcome to the Ballroom) I won't categorized him as pussy after reading the epilogue, I would say he's a beast.
    He's got a 100+ children, that's something you won't find easily

    Either way when it comes to JP, try to search for short titled novels, just like 86 which is a freaking number compared to long ass pull titles, titles, try Fate Zero for a game changer if you haven't seen the anime yet, or the recent ones like Infinite Dendrogram and The Faraway Paladin.
