I haven't followed this novel in a long time, but I remember it being okay. The schtick of Maple randomly lucking into a hidden powerup gets a little old after a while (I miss the days of her just randomly deciding to eat whatever big monster she's fighting). That being said, it's cute and I enjoy how her powerups gradually turn her into a terrifying inhuman monster.

All these VRMMO novels have terribly designed games that seem to be written by people who've never played a real MMO, but the MC getting nerfed by the devs is one of the most realistic bits I've ever seen one contain.

Someone made a grave mistake again. Like in Kuro no Maou, I doubt they're using hatchets because a hatchet is a small axe and does not look like a sword at all. So is it the author mistake or the translator? hatchet =

Well, in Europe you learn British English and in America you learn American English, but tbh I don't care much about this. As long as you know and write the past tense of to shine correctly: shone. to shine -> shone -> shone. Shined is from to shine: You had shined your shoes so much, they shone really bright until you went through the mud. Irregular verb forms are very important or the language might degrade into Chinese forms: "I be sweed. You be Wujigege. We be write each other."

Just saying it, because I really, really, really hate it, as much as I hate " I find" which is taken over from German and illegal to use in my school days.

Started reading this yesterday, now at chapter 15.
Seems decent enough, but i can't help but think that the concept could have been so much more than what the author is doing.
The cliche "MC keeps getting rare items/skills to make them utterly OP with next to no effort" story really sells the concept short, and the rest of the playerbase not immediately figuring out that "take no damage + aoe taunts = BEST TANK EVAH", kinda makes the world less realistic and makes the plot stupider.

 

There is a drama genre for novel updates. Novels without it are essentially without plot.
Last I checked this novel lacks it.
I recommend checking drama when searching for novels using Series finder. Also removing comedy tag is also something, I like doing.

I'm not talking about lack of drama.
Simple casual no stress vrmmo novel about a young girl casually playing a full defense tank with no drama sounds fun.
The completely OP insanely lucky skill/item drops and a player base that is full of idiots who have never considered, or tried, the benefits of full defense tank feels like a pointless addition.
Just, have her play a game and have fun, the item drops, skills, incredibly stupid playerbase and poorly balanced game don't really add anything to the story, and potentially detract from it by making the setting stupider than it needs to be.

Why not, instead of making her copletely broken and OP, make her build actually well known, but rarely used because other, more offense focused, tank builds are more efficient in top tier raiding, while her build is usefull (but not best) in groups and complete pain in the ass to solo for those who want to acchieve things fast.
