I need help with this word.

Is there another word/spelling for this to match the last boldened line? Or will "pray" suffice?

    Many thanks for your help.

I think you just need to make a stylistic choice here.

The context suggests that the second speaker isn't familiar with the word お祈り and is therefore pronouncing it strangely. You could considering spelling "pray" out phonetically as "prey/prei" to get the point across. Alternatively, I think simply leaving it as "pray" should also work just fine, since the next line, 変な発音, already indicates that the second speaker pronounced it wrong.

If you decided to translate お祈りしようかな as "offer(ing) up a prayer," you'll have more options to play around with misspelling "prayer" as "pray-uh" or something along those lines.

So it's really up to you.

More like "Pray...er?" to me rather than "prayuh". It shows that he's baffled by the first statement. The question mark is a clue.
