Discussion Just a friendly reminder to backup your website

So today I f***** up by trying to upgrade the hosting on my domain Lightnovelsonline.net because I started hosting a novel for a friend. the godaddy instructions were pretty s*** so I ended up deleting my whole website because everything got messed( somewhat a good thing because I have been planning to change the ad layout so it doesn't bother people). Luckily I downloaded an xml file of my website content and made backups before attempting. I didn't really lose anything and all my links are good.

Tldr ; back up your website even if you don't plan on making changes. saves a lot of work and potential heart attacks

Edit: see it says sums like it always definitely did. It definitively was not a grammatical error that said somes at all. I find any irresponsible remarks as defamation, and demand all of the nuffies that can be found as compensation.

I'm glad too. for a bit I thought my xml file got corrupted because it kept giving me an error:404

I like the world when there's a little more spice added too the chaos, and where everything burns with boiling blood flowing tru the ruins of society ... then i mean literally, i'm waiting for the day when the it all burns with such hot boiled blood that just everything will be set on fire from the heat itself that dwells within the red bubbling blood... so i am going for "it's sad you did not lose everything and hope you won't have such luck next time

Try the UpdraftPlus plugin if you use WordPress; it really helps!

Also, many hosting companies offer backup services, so it's really advisable to check them out.

I recommend switching your hosts too. They should be able to provide you with free automatic daily backups and restore
Stablehost provides that for me
I have multiple websites on my account so I try to not use it as much, hence why I use updraftplus

 

As the warehouses full of overpriced merchandise went up in flames.. The social media websites went down across the city. Godaddy is pretty shit tbh. I regret using it. it keeps telling me my resources are used up then it slows everything down for a bit then all of a sudden its fast again. the hosting I pay for ( 1 usd per month) on my other websites doesn't give me problems

 

Yeah. You cannot just use any that you like. I had used hostagor years ago. I had to do research for months before I picked Stablehost
I had never seen an advertisement for them unlike godaddy
