    in·fi·del·i·ty
    /ˌinfəˈdelədē/
    noun
the action or state of being unfaithful to a spouse or other sexual partner.
"her infidelity continued after her marriage"
synonyms: unfaithfulness, adultery, unchastity, cuckoldry, extramarital relations, extramarital sex
Let's just use the word "infidelity" as being unfaithful to your spouse in this context.

When will you consider an action as being unfaithful in a romantic sense? As in, what's the bare minimum for someone to be labelled unfaithful?

And what would be a justifiable reason to commit infidelity/unfaithfuless?

(Got curious cause of @lychee's recent post.)

Either opt for an open relationship with the consent of your partner or divorce.
I don't believe there is any real justifiable reason to commit infidelity.

    Moral? None.

I dunno why breaking up with someone is such a big deal nowadays. Everyone seem to love the drama it brings, cons of being a retard I guess.

    Here's a hypothetical situation:

You have an abusive husband/wife, and you also have kids. Your husband/wife is treating you coldly... he/she is cheating on you. You wish to divorce but won't because you don't want to give your children a fatherless/motherless childhood, also because he/she provides for the family. Out of frustration and stress, you have a sexual relation with an old partner. You regret it.

    Was your reason justifiable?

I watched a Korean movie recently. It was quite risque.

The woman said to her lover at night: Do you love me?
He answered: Yeah..(he seemed very disinterested)
The next day, she proceeded to cheat on him with an ex

Infidelity is very easy to justify. Lack of communication is usually the root cause

Wanting to commit infidelity yet feel oneself to be 'righteous' is what would lead to the discussion of whether or not is it justifiable.

In the end, you either commit infidelity or don't, there is no reason to 'justify' it. You did a shitty thing and simply want consolation- thing is, you gotta move on and have a discussion with those concerned.

Even in this scenario, she could have taken therapy which would be much helpful than commit infidelity. In the end, what purpose did infidelity serve?

There is a reason. Self-respect, pride, self-worth, etc. And don't just look at the outcome. What she did was bad, period. But can it be justified is the question? In this situation, I personally think so. Also, therapy isn't really accessible in a lot of places.

I know that this is an ethical question, and ethical questions are subjective both in perspective and in circumstance, but I just want a personal outtake in it. Well, by saying that, proving my own statement becomes redundant.

    Agree to disagree, I guess.

The correct answer is why keeping up appearance for the children ? Or in front of children ? Don't underestimate children ability to understand what's going on. Rather than let something fester just cut it off so something else can start.

How is that the correct answer?

What if their father loves them and they love their father back as much as you love them and vice versa? I know that at this point, the situation sure is against the mother, but this is purely hypothetical.

What if when we cut something off before it can fester, we accidentally cut something more than we wanted? What if the decisive course of action actually resulted in more of a loss than what was originally at stake?

There are just some situations where you have to put up with suffering in order to maintain the status quo for the better.
