More! More! Exactly! I personally don't care much for QI, but I miss the drama, the sarcasm, the roasts and the popcorn to be had. Been there, done that. But the true Qidian Overlord is far more sinister than its pale imitation; why, it almost ruined my English! You understand. Qidian International, the international subsidiary of the Chinese webnovel giant Qidian. QI now goes by the (more familiar) name of Webnovel. Let the hate flow through you! But that leaves you all the more time to hate, right? I'm in the same boat. An appreciative younger generation is always appreciated. Same here. But I would like those times back because they provided excellent entertainment. Fan the flames of war, bring the QI citadel down! Onward and outward, my brave rebels! P.S. This is just a fun thread. I was expecting something more along the lines of "Down with Qidian" than anything remotely serious. I'll also admit I was almost tempted to report many of those who mentioned piracy, but considering how it would almost feel like I baited poor responders into doing it only to backstab them, I valiantly held myself back. Praise me!
I use this really special tool called Release Filtering. I have set Shitdan on Ignore since Day 1 and it aint going away till nu exists.
I love you too. Qidian International is more like a shell company now. Their emails do not work so I am not surprised there are no staff is on here They probably never got paid their wages and quit It never really affected anyone personally to be fair. People just love bandwagons
Wujigege stopped pushing his ideals down everyone's throats, and therefore nobody has any reason or motivation to say anything about his site anymore. Pretty much the only reason why people were so vocal about wujigege was because he kept making all those threads trying to pick fights with non-profit hobby translators and tried to justify his money-making ventures. Since he doesn't make those threads anymore, there's no reason to do anything about him. As for the threads he does make these days, he has just as much right to say whatever he wants as every other dude, so nobody finds that particularly offensive either. Ai-chan is also particularly concerned about qidian. Has qidian stopped riling people because their english website has taken off? This must not be. We need to DDoS their website just because we can. Justice For Cadia!
When Qidian invaded, I hated them, but I understood them. They were a greedy corporate without feelings or face, up to today June 17th, i still don't use their website, at all. I rather go to a QU Toc or something. But Active Translations, now those guys I hate, they are greedy as hell, they took piracy to a whole new level, they don't even own the rights to the novels and they want to charge 13 USD per chapter, like what happens if a novel I like is not popular? Well, you are screwed, you will need to pay the full 13 USD to get an extra chapter. I used to pay 12 USD per month and I could read my novel Auto Hunting, I was up to date. Now? They removed the chapters I already bought, locked them, and are asking for 12 USD from me to unlock something I already bought. Just plain bullshit, and also they are not allowing you to post comments and they are reviewing everything. I feel better that was a good rant. At this point, Active Translations should just close and let other people take over the novels they have, i don't even think we should respect their ownership of the novel now that they are using this new payment system.
The thing that annoys me the most about Qidian is the fact that they actually pick novels I like... I read them (not on their site, but whatever...) I'm up to date... and all of a sudden no more updates... (Like with dragon emperor martial god, divine card creator, nine star burden)... and when someone else picks them up, they gain traction, then all of a sudden Qidian sends a C&D claiming that they are resuming translation... do one or two arcs then drop them all again (Like with Thriller Paradise)... nowadays they seem to have some sort of super hidden vip premium or whatever; last I checked Bringing Culture had ten+ chapters hidden and the least "public" release was like one month ago... On the topic of Active Translation... I never had any issues with them, I only read their non-premium releases, now they updated their site and it seems to have an issue with me, or my country and I can't access the site (I see an Access Denied in the header and the body is just ERROR, my IP, and my country) it feels personal and the fact that I cant read Toika novels, FFF, and RIM is pissing me off
I mean, we still don't like qidian, but with the beautiful, awesome and absolute necessity of a function called "release filtering", the average reader can basically happily ignore them. absolute godsend of a filter I tell you. Out of sight, out of mind. Happily got rid of all the webnovel, Tapread and gravitynovels releases out of my feed. Heck, it was so effective I didn't even know gravity disappeared till a few months ago.
