If QI has Munipa's (or which ever site the novel is from) permission, then they can do what they want.

They also took novels from other publishers like 17k, and zhong.

If anyone has contacts to korean or other web novel publishers I bet you can make a really appealing case for copyrights for a pretty price. Heck with all their recorded shady history it won't even be a fair fight.
Also since its international, laws will be based off North America since their servers are there. America laws are scary stealing even a pencil can be labeled as a 1million fine, if proven right and being dramatic about it.

Not like Munpia owns all korean novels, it's a partnered company branching out to different companies spreading their network. Stealing a novel which Munpia doesn't agree or know is a all out war with other publishers.

Obviously only the ones Munpia own have been taken (along with their translators agreeing to it). It might come as a surprise to you, but Qidian actually follows copyright law, whatever others say.

yeah totally, thats why you can find Wuxiaworld's novels on there, "Follow copyright law" yeah keep saying that to yourself, but don't preach it when it's a lie.

Are you for real? Do you how many laws they broke stealing images from artist to use as their book novels to start with, or going back out their deal with a written agreement with wuxiaworld, and even blackmailing small translator groups and translators? Their are plenty of cases spread around, even if they try to hide it with blackmail it's still there. I don't know why your defending Qidian maybe your getting paid, you might be a fan seeing our community go to shit with all the novels being locked and poor students and readers having to pay to read 1 ch, when they supported their translators since the start, with what little they have either by not blocking ads or spreading their work around.

OMG your part of gravitytales! No wonder your stroking Qidian's little melons, you already sold out, long time ago, no wonder you care so much! You a signed contract! You can't say anything to go against your overlords! You have no freedom, or identity. What you have is a empty shell filled with lies, for what profit? Your very existence means nothing to me if you don't even own it. Good day to you sir.

Welp.. this was already forshadowed ever since the drama where rainbow turtle left GT happens.
And QI is very ambitious in making the webnovel scene another one of its money farm.
Korean translation novels will all get licensed before we noticed it next.

No more free stuff for the leechers.
Except for JP novel thats not licensed by Jnovel, yenpress or kadokawa.. Lol

QI definitely breaks copywrite law. They have published fan translations without permission of the translator You don't have rights to derivative works based on works you own, though you can obviously prevent them being distributed

Which xuanhuan are you from? :blobrofl:

Qidian International hosting translations of novels from other platforms is legit, I'm sure, but you can't really blame people for being skeptical when they routinely discredit themselves. At this point Qidian International could liquidate all its assets and donate everything to St. Jude's and people would believe - very vocally - that it was just a publicity stunt or some kind of hostile hospital takeover.

A poor reputation is not something easily shaken off. It sticks, and it clouds everything else you do.
