I could make a long post about it, but... I won't Parth already did one and I have no reason to.

I'll just say, good post Parth, it makes plenty of sense, hopefully this kind of thing doesn't happen again in the future...

Religion isn't a race, its an ideology, so everyone has the right to insult any religion.

So please get your head out of your arse.

I noticed this too. I had to stop visiting quite many places when they issued such blanket bans and statements.

Just look at this thread: it says that bashing Islam is not okay, however, there are still some posts that try to defend it. One if which was even liked by OP.

Personally I feel that these kinds of blanket bans are literally what cause echo chambers in almost any opinion, but then again I don't really use this forum so I don't really care.

Religion isn't in and of itself a bad thing. Religion is essentially believing that there exists some absolute power greater than yourself.

Did you read what I said? I didn't mean anyone who is an atheist who lives in a country that doesn't tolerate atheism. I was talking about people just claiming to be atheists in an effort to seem cool and fit in with th growing trend.

Here's an infamous example from Reddit:

eh, it was an example. I could have used other stuff like race, or other religions...but more often than not, it's islam that bears a lot of criticism and I'm not saying some of that isn't deserved, but don't apply that to everyone. there is no need to express that here which is my point.

O, yeah I didn't see it. I was talking about a thread that polled whether or not you are interested in politics.

    Anything radical is a problem.

You could be radically passive and its a problem, because then people take advantage of you to no end.

i'm guessing he meant criticize ^^ its not ok to insult but everyone need to learn how to critic not to end up dumb
also when we talk about islamist (not islam) we talk about terrorism so honestly i don't know who would not insult them after seeing the execution

This is quite true. Trump seems to understand the power of words and symbolic actions in influencing people without ever actually having to do anything. I think it unlikely for him to follow through on many of his promises and in fact think him likely to be a rather moderate president considering his historical positions on various issues

Yeah this election was basically a battle of charisma and personality (as opposed to who ever promises the better things) which trump won.

The majority of the things he said a logistically impossible (the wall, deporting all immigrants). The only I can think off that can be accomplished is stopping or slowing the influx of people (who will be mostly Muslims due to demographics) from suspected extremist countries. Considering how Germany (New Year Eve's mass rapes) and France (too many to count) have suffered there are reasons to back up this measures. A lot of people just took this as Trump saying he's going to round up all Muslims and deport them. A lot of Muslims are legal citizens. They are Americans first and foremost in the eyes of the law.

It even happened with some of my family who are from Mexican descent who feared deportation. The stupidest thing is that they are legal citizens just like me. they just bought into the demagoguery.

Just to be clear this is about the extremist and not the masses.

    All Muslims are Muslims.

All Muslim extremists are Muslims extremists.

All Muslims are not Muslim extremists.
