well, an Igorot axe is kinda different, it's something that is a brutal weapon that should be banned from people since a single strike from it can kill a person without hope of survival
... Like most other weapons? (sword, other axes, spears, even rapiers if you're not aiming at legs) That why they Called weapons and no man catcher, woman stunner or what every
Your new MC "Walking Left Hand" can defeat you with only it's pinky! And on it's journey it'll meet it's lover the "Smooth Right Hand" who got kidnapped by "Master Right Feet's" little brother "Crazy Right Knee"!
A short sword and big shield, go in for close combat bash with shield and stab vital area with short sword then retreat. It’s a thief+guard build. Prob will die a lot till MC master both defend and offend of shield
Its an axe with pickaxe on other side if you get hit with any other weapon (maybe not maces) like that you will do the same damage Maybe it's have unique shape and it's brutal but you think a Danish axe won't do the same or even more damage? How about top heavy swords, war picks, halbeard,
OK continue on your journey but when you end it stop smoking whatever you smoke that gave you the idea of starting this journey
It's hard to put it into words, it's hard to explain, it's design was to let hacking continue even if there's a body stuck on it... for example, a danish axe can hack a person, but it needs to gain another mumentum to hack another person, then an igorot axe can lift a person like a meat shield and throw it into another person to hack him to avoid giving an opening... something like that. Well this is just my biased view because it's from my ancestors, but if practicality alone, my then I'll pick a pole hammer.
Stop smoking, eating, inhaling and whatever else you smoke, etc Its make you write random comments that are random
So a saber, glaive, etc. they aren't swords? Next we'll have a choice between saber and blade. The whole purpose of half-swording is going against armoured opponents because you can't break through the protection. In novels with physically overpowered humans who don't even bother with armor, there's no point.
I don't really know why sabers are called sabers and not curved swords but glaive it's a blade on pole it's don't have cross guard its don't gave pommel etc You can't call weapon with blade a sword
When I saw Halberd on here I was thinking 'oh f*ck, please let this be a western halberd'. Am I the only one that thinks western halberd when in Chinese books they say that the MC uses a halberd when in reality it is much more like a glaive. To everyone who thinks that swords are useful on the battle field, they were not unless it was like the romans. The main reason why the b*stard sword/ short sword/ etc were popular in Europe was because you could carry it around without actively provoking people as a self defence weapon while it was light and easy to carry around. An example would be someone walking around on the streets with a battle axe, mace or a Warhammer. You would think that they were looking for trouble compared to someone with a smaller, comparatively less lethal hand and a half sword. They were also more useful in smaller areas than two handed weapons and they also could look fancy so there is that as well. My two cents on katanas is: okay in duels (still would prefer anything else) but useless on the battlefield due to their fragility and lack of durability. They would be even more useless in a high fantasy world due to the same issues no matter the material combined with superhuman strength. Come at me fanboys. TO WAR
I'm pretty sure that it is because sabers came from a different region and were made differently. I might be entirely wrong though so don't mind me.
You didn't understand my meaning… and glaives are also the name of Roman swords yeah (gladius). No it's not… Sabers are swords.
Sorry, what I meant was it was the same thing as Katanas, they are already swords but are different enough or were made in a different area to be called differently. Like how the Gladius and B*stard sword are different and called different things.
