    EDIT: Oh, sorry, I thought you didn't know the "clean" meaning. Yeah, like the others said, it's basically another way of saying "and", but in a specific context. You use it to compound things so the author used it the wrong anyway. For example, you can say a guy is a footballer-cum-referee, which means he's got both roles.
