Mafia #28: Regular mafiaGeneral Rules: 1. Be respectful. 2. Do not discuss the game outside the game thread. 3. Do not edit your posts after writing them. 4. Do not gamethrow (act against your win condition). This includes jesting (acting chaotic or suspicious on purpose) and all sorts of revenge actions. 5. Do not use any sort of code or encryption during the game. Signals are allowed (When I say "x" I mean "y happened") but any sort of hidden message that requires a cipher/rule to read, or otherwise hidden message is not allowed. 6. Do not quote, screenshot, or otherwise post any messages received from the game master or anything related to the game outside of the thread. 7. This is my hosting colour, it’ll make the VCs and other GM posts more noticeable. Do not use that colour unless you absolutely need to. 8. Pretending to break any rule will be treated as if you broke that rule. 9. Most importantly, remember that this is just a game, so just try and have fun! Spoiler: Basic stuff Setup info The roles are as they appear in this post! There are no neutrals There is only two factions mafia and town This is unsurprisingly not a bastard game. There will be no alignment changes mid-game. Lynching or killing a player will result in them being removed from the game their faction will be revealed A will system is implemented. Death is permanent Day lasts roughly 48 hours and night lasts roughly 24 hours. How to lynch: There is a list of names appended to the bottom of this post. The first person to vote quotes that list and uses it in their post. They put the name of the person they want to vote for next to their own name on the list. Then at the bottom of the post they put the persons name with a - 1. The next person quotes the previous posters list. If two people use the same list the person whose post appears second does the clean up of the two lists. List of the general roles: Spoiler Spoiler: Citizen You are a Citizen. You don't have any special ability and just try to live your life in peace. Each day you get to vote in an attempt to remove the Mafia from the community. You win with the Town You must kill the Mafia Spoiler: Cop You are a Cop. Every night you have the ability to investigate one town member to see if they're up to anything suspicious. If your target is a member of the Mafia, you will know. You win with the Town You must kill the Mafia Spoiler: Doctor You are a Doctor. You have the ability to visit one person each night. If they are attacked that night, you arrive just in time to save their life. You do not receive feedback regardless if your target was attacked or not. You can heal yourself. You win with the Town You must kill the Mafia Spoiler: Goon You are a Goon. You have no special abilties, you may do the factional kill(s) each night and vote during the day. You can communicate with your allies for as long as they are alive. You win with the Mafia You must kill the Town Spoiler: Outsider You are a Outsider If you are investigated you will appear as a member of the Mafia You win with the Town You must kill the Mafia Spoiler: Vigilante You are a Vigilante You have the ability to kill a player every second night starting from the first night You win with the Town You must kill the Mafia Spoiler: Vengeful spirit You are a Vengeful spirit If you are lynched you can take one player who lynched you with yourself You win with the Town You must kill the Mafia Spoiler: Traitor You are a Traitor You are a part of the mafia however you do not start off as a part of the mafia chat. If you are night-killed by the mafia you join the chat as a goon instead of dying. If all other Mafia members are killed before you are recruited you lose the game. After the deaths of many members of the small village of Nottingham bedrock. The members are infuriated and have decided to band together to kill off those whom are bringing them harm. The first step in this plan is to remove the local mafia group from their small village. All this was spurred by the arrival of a cop from the big city after the death of the local town sheriff under extremely suspicious circumstance. Luckily there is paperwork left behind on each individual in the town for the cop to go through however unluckily it's hidden all throughout the town so he has to go out and retrieve it from the hidden locations. This obviously is going to take a while. The matter is even further complicated by the fact that he will have to solve riddles during the day to find the location of each persons paperwork! The local doctor has decided that he will go out and check in on a random person in the town each night to make sure they are okay in case they are attacked by one of these strange forces. A vengeful ghost is inhabiting the bodies of one of the residents of the town. If he feels threatened he will take someone down with him! So be careful who you decide to burn at the pyre! Sadly a man who recently joined the town was labelled as suspicious by the previous sheriff so be careful when you listen to the cop he might just have picked out the poor innocent outsider due to some unfortunate coincidences like the murders starting the day after he joined the small village. A vigilante is on the prowl trying to justly take down the bad guys whilst everyone else is busy sleeping! Sadly he's got a knee problem that plays up every second night so he can't go out and protect the town from the mafia every night! There is a traitor in our midst as well so be on the look out for him he's trying to get into the mafia but he always seems to miss them even though he knows who some of them are! The game is now live!
