    Then answer me this:
    If he has played before then why ask about what abstain means in the game?
    Why would he bother responding to something I was talking to Zone about if he didn't feel like it was related to him?

    The conclusion:
    He was not a newbie. (You just said you saw his gameplay)
    He responded to something that was not intended for him and got made a fool of, so he started trolling and the result was the heated conversation.
