Feature Request Make 1 Star and 5 Star vote exclusive to "Vote+Review" combo.(And More?)

1 star votes are sham, 5 star votes - flavorless.
For those who truly care about rating - neither of those two options are really an option; is not for those people was made rating system in first place ? Why monkey brigade from NUF throws shit on every novel for one or other petty reason ? Qidan ? 1 Star; 'Traitor' ? 1 Star; Long name? 1 Star; Cookie doesn't fit ? Thanks Obama.

3. "Report Novel" button.
4. Sort reviews by "Status" option would be good too.

Report novel ? I don't see it; Or review report ? This i know about.

 

Just use the report on your NU profile and describe your problem. Like novel A has two identical chapters etc etc.

 

Really? Who made you the authority on that?

You'd be surprised to know that most do not really care that much about ratings, with the exception of some fanatics, and rabid haters.
Tying reviews to ratings will make the system too restrictive and unlikeable. And why reviews only for 1 or 5 star rating? Doesn't seem fair.

Again, no solid proof on this. Novel appreciation and criticism is subjective. Ratings are subjective. There are QI haters; but that doesn't mean every QI novel is maligned because of them. If a novel has poor ratings even after 50-100 votes, I would suspect the novel's popularity/reception rather than unreasonable haters.

 

If you exclude 1 star and 5 star ratings then people will start giving 2star and 4 star ratings just to bring avg rating up or down.

1 star/5 star votes are as valid as any other, people shouldn't need to review to leave those votes.

Ratings/reviews should be about the novel, not about the translation, so your 2nd suggestion doesn't make sense.

I don't know what is the 4th suggestion.

 

Ratings are subjective ?In your head maybe, but internet has a mean estimation of "Good" and it's a 75-80% of maximum possible score; and guess what 10-20% means ? Scam, broken, "Truly Inferior".

People don't care about ratings ? All of us have unlocked "Public Reading List" and "I'm Looking For..." forum with "Discussions:13,111" says otherwise.

It's about impact, 1 star vote has outrageous impact compare to 3 star vote, if 1 star is still in realm of acceptable score that is fair and just then what about novels that are literally butchered by translator ? Report-delete ? Is this really a solution ? Maybe later, but not now>

Yes i propose First Request as a band-aid solution for our current still quite amateurish translator AND consummer community.

 

If you ban USA weapon-of-manslaughter possession then they will all run buy hunting riffles ? There no perfect solutions - only countless mistakes that lead to better ones.

 

Most people don't care about ratings actually, it's why they ask for recommendations instead of searching themselves...

Any novel that isn't pure MTL can enter NU, this includes edited MTL.

Being "butchered" or not doesn't matter.
