Before we get to the topic, has anyone listened to 0x1=lovesong (I Know I Love You) by TXT? (The topic have a correlation to this song btw). It sounds like a love song from the title & lyrics, but it's actually a song that telling a story about a boy who lacks love in his live (could be any kind of love, but from the MV probably the lack of love is mostly caused by his family problem), and this boy searching for love from the friendship made by his own imagination (this is theory by the fandom). So, the topic is, can anyone recommend me ANY kind of story, could be either novel or comics (be it web or physical), chinese, korean, japanese, english or whatever, with that (story above) kind of trope? The trope is basically: MC who's mentally not okay with a very toxic environment found solace when he's only together with the ML. Another example from this kind of trope is a manga by Teki Yatsuda, Home Far Away. I'd recommend the MDZS fandom then. It has quite a few stories like what you're describing. You can find a lot of them if you use the filter Jiang family bashing on ao3 for example. Hope this helps.
