So after my travels with World of Cultivation, I got many recommendations for other novels. Some included Gate of Revelation! Finally gave it a try and I caught up in one go. I realized that I'm not as averse to modern day settings as I initially thought. Of course, I don't "love" that setting, but if it is good, then I'm willing to give it a shot. Do you guys have any recommendations? Something like GoR, or even The Mightiest Manager where the world building is rather consistent with a good storyline. I also enjoy Cultivation Chat Group (or you guys can see my reading list). I would prefer if it had at least 100 chapters, but it's not a deal breaker. I do prefer CN over JP and KR, but if you think it's worth a shot, recommend away!
I have heard a lot about how that story ended up really weird/bad end? Like the author gave up... or was it TDG.. I might give it a shot, eventually...
For real?! I read the manhua version and kept thinking at was not in modern day and that the illustrations were just what the illustrator personally liked. Does that mean Douluo Dalu is also modern? =w=
One that just started being translated that I have high hopes for is Returning from the Immortal World. Only 9 chapters out.. and unfortunately a very slow translation pace, but I think it's got a lot of potential. Hope the translator keeps on with it, or someone who can do more than 1 chapter/week picks it up. If you like Gate of Revelation then you'll probably enjoy the whole Survival Game/Infinity genre. Check out: Infinity Armament Terror Infinity The Ultimate Evolution(I haven't read this one but it's the same genre, although I hear it's not as well done.) Honestly, I think the vast majority of Korean novels you'll probably enjoy. Dungeon Hunter King of the Battlefield Everyone Else is a Returnee Emperor of Solo Play Master Hunter K Seoul Station's Necromancer Dimensional Sovereign Sovereign of Justice and many more. Just do a series search for Korean novels, a lot of them have the game elements+modern world setting.
