I just saw the trailer of this movie.. Is it based on a novel? Idk if there is a manga or anime about it.. because ive never watched it..
Monster hunter has a manga but the movie is not based on that. I think the movie is based on monster hunter world but with shitty isekai and Anderson was very subtle naming the MC Artemis which is also the name of the goddess of hunt in greek mythology.
It's a super loose adaptation of the monster hunter game franchise. Looking at the trailers, they've changed so much that it looks like it's gonna be bad
There's a tie-in quest in Monster Hunter World, which is the game that has most of the characters in the movie.
