Discussion Most infuriating background characters

Not in the MC team, potentailly not a villain, just a plain one scene person in and out.

Hi, i am binging xianxias to escape my RL, sadly it is still up my ass, so while I was speed reading, I found this particular character that MC interacted with.

Background: this is just a single arc, MC is a pill maker, and had issues with opening a shop due to a large corporation wanting to kill him and squeeze out whatever info MC has, so before the opening day of his shop, MC went to befriend shit tons of useful people in the city his shop is opening in. One of the people is the City Mayor's son, who accepted MC's gift after promising that he will help MC. On the day of the opening, corpo sent high ranked cultivators to:
a. Destroy the shop and
b. Kill MC and everyone he knows.
So all the friends MC had connection with stood up for MC, except the biggest player, the Mayor's son, who literally stood behind when the confrontation began and sort of just smile and nod at MC while not giving him any assistance or call for help. This being a major issue as this POS has the power to have the high ranked deported immediately. Problem got resolved due to plot armor.

The second time we meet the POS is when he got stuck in a labyrinth alongside a bunch of nobodies, funny is that they sort of entered the place after MC went it, which is coincidental. As the POS is dying, MC sort of revealed himself, the guy immediately plead to be saved and again promise a bunch of shit. When MC is unmoved, the POS immediately threaten MC that he will become no. 1 enemy of the city and will die gruesomely at the hands of the city along with everyone he loves and cares. MC did not kill him as the labyrinth kills the bastard immediately after the threat.

So who is your most infuriating background character that you have read or watch in TV before?

 

Those cheap ass romance drama where the other characters sole purpose is to matchmake the feml and ml ALL THE TIME WHEN THEY ARE ON SCREEN.
Their dialog is always one and the same
"HEY YOU AND HIM MAKE A GREAT COUPLE"
"IS SOMEBODY JEALOUS"
"ADMIT IT YOU LOVE HIM"
"ITS TRUE LOVE IM SURE OF IT"

 

Rachel. She is a bit central to the story, but nobody can beat Rachel, not even close...

 

Murong Daren (Nine Sun God King): A little on the MC team, but didn't appear for a long time. The biggest annoyance is in his name, when it's actually Da Ren (tl: Rightous Man I think), they say it as Lord Murong. He trolled some king like that and even MC doesn't dare to call him by his name.

Same. If you ever read TOG even just once until that 1st "push", even if you forget most of the characters, you can't forget Rachel.
Is "Bam" even the MC ? Cause I'm sure the one with the Biggest "Plot Armor" in the webtoon is definitely her.

 

What's TOG ? Who's Rachel ? Everyone seems to hate her so it intrigues me...

Does baam eventually leave her to fight on her own? I dropped the webtoon cause I was so fucking annoyed with baam always trying to save her even though he knows she is a bitch.

Don't know. I dropped the webtoon at around middle to end part of the Hell Train arc.

 

The thread is getting derailed because of the collective hate for Rachel. (from bg character you hate to ToG discussion)
Also, she isn't a "background" character at all.

Most annoying background character has to be a nagging Flat-Earth mom-in-law that lives in a van down by the river with her Christopher Walken-sounding and silent film-watching vegan cannibal zombie moose, Seymour!
