So I've read the fanfic of mother of learning and today I found out that there is a original light novel


So my question is there a difference between the two

 

I guess I'll start with the obvious one. Ahem, one is a fan fic while the other is an original work.

I would assume that there is a difference. If not the fanfic is now plagiarizing someone's work.

There's an original story called mother of learning on fanfiction.net and there's other stories called mother of learning that are completely nothing to do with that. Most people refer to mother of learning as being the original story that's posted on fanfiction.net

Yes because I've read the originals synopsis and I've read the fanfic and they look the same but the fanfic might be different from the original

That's odd, I thought Mother of Learning was a Webnovel written by Nobody103, aka Domagoj Kurmaic -- How is it a fanfic for one thing?

That's the original work, not a fan fiction. If there is other stories with the same title, it doesn't have anything to do with the one you gave a link for OR it's the fanfic of this story

 

I will say once again, look at the author name. Both of them.

 

This reminds me of RRL's transition from a predominantly fanfic hosting site to one where original stories became more common. Due to older users referring to the stories in general as FF or fanfictions, some people continued using the term for original stories. (Some still do last I checked). Some people simply don't know the difference.

Original fiction- A fiction with characters and events created by the author, only loosely inspired by other stories.

Fan Fiction- A fiction that rips off characters and/or events from another story and uses them to create their own. Called as such since they're usually made by fans of the series being ripped off.

 

The main character have the same name and it has the same beginning

And the synopsis of the suspected original describes what happens in the fanfic
