Before I went to sleep yesterday my phone's PIN code was working just fine. When I woke up to use my phone, it kept saying my PIN code was incorrect even though it's the code I always use. Now I'm locked out... This never happened before in the 6 years I had this phone (Note 2). I've tried restarting my phone, turning it off and on, removing the battery, and even clearing the cache. Only method left I can think of is the factory reset, but I would rather look for more ways before I just delete all my data since not everything is backed up. Note: My phone's wifi is off so I can't use some other methods and also debugging is not enabled. My phone is also not rooted. If anyone has suggestions that could help, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Did you connect it with your email? If you keep doing it wrong, then there's an option to use your email to unlock it. I used to use Note 3, so I'm not sure. Or it depends on the OS? I'm sure he meant the phone's PIN, not the simcard's PIN
Do you live alone or with others? If you live with others, ask them (friendly - not accusing). There might be a human reason your PIN does not work.
Test the touchscreens. Error inputs through the hardware. This is why i preferred patterns so i can tell if the touchscreen is normal or not.
You're not having it where it can be switched over with someone else's ? You sure it's really yours not one similar ?
Whats your phone android system. You might have been hacked Any chance it was your phone way of telling you she cant take your abuse anymore all those love taps everytime on her screen hahaha Lol on a serious note. Check your inputs as your phone screen or digitizer might have problems despite clicking a single it moght be doubling or none at all. But the most probable is that someone changed the password!!!!!. An angry lover haha
Take to samsung authorized seller or ask any phone shop? If they do ask for some fee pay them i guesss than resetting the whole phone... Did you consider try to connect to pc and backup the whole phone and factory reset?
I just reset it. Repair shop couldn't help me... I recovered half of my stuff. Oh well... Got to find all my contact info again.
Probably already too late since this is a month ago, but load a custom bootloader and make a backup of the rom. Since back then hardware encryption was not a thing you can easily pull the stuff or bypass the pin in an emulator. More than likely, part of the storage got corrupted (flash memory has limited write cycles) and it took your pin down with it.
