Just vote on the poll. My college buddies and others are planning for some charity work to an Orphanage near my area. Its an all girls dorm we are in-charge of. Most of the kids are ages 15 and below but due to the head mistress of the orphanage, we are only giving the younger ones, mostly 10 and below. Since the older ones are a bit iffy about male adults. And yes there will be police on the area so no pedobears allowed. Clothes, food and school supplies are out because we arent the only ones giving this holiday season. Unluckily we got "toys" in the drawlot. Just need a general idea of what to buy in bulks. To prevent fighting between the kids, were decided to just pick one between the three. Just a survey.
Because they have a lack of familial contact, they need at least something to hug and snuggle in their sleep, imo. Btw, bless you Beer_Kitty and your buddies for this charity work. I think I'm gonna look myself, if there is an orphanage in my area and if I can also donate some plushies for christmas.
Toy kitchen set and Barbie would probably a less than ideal choice, since it involves many small things that could get lost in Narnia. Plushies for sure, to hug and care with less chance to break. Just make sure you're not giving them a batch of identical ones.
At first, I thought plushies would be cute but since it is a place with a bunch of kids I decided that a Kitchen set would be a nicer choice since they can play them together.
I agree with these points and also note that plushies are genderless so appropriate for boys and girls, and also wouldn't have small accessories that may be choking hazards.
Art supplies or maybe sports stuff ? Personally enjoy getting decent art supplies. But creative toys like slime and clay I think probably what ppl are into atm. I have been seeing artist review the new amazon basic art supplies which seem to be decently priced. They got some of their colorful glue tho some seem to not so great for making slime since it turns brown though instead of rainbow lol If I find the YouTube video with decent art supplies I’ll link it here. But anything from Jazza art boxes look good
Plushies are a must have for kids. I slept with my bed full of them and played tales with them until I grew and the space left was too small. What about adding one boardgame-classics box to the mix? So the kids can play together.
We can only buy in bulk since were getting them from the supplier itself. We were doing this yearly but its a first for us for the girls orphanage. We were usually doing it with the boys dorm. So were a totally blanking out what to buy. Thank you for the replies but sadly we can only do these 3. Its already a stretch to add the kitchen set since as said by some of you, they sometimes have small parts that the younger ones can choke on. Balls and other sporty goods are also out since theyre near a busy main road. Board games could be good if we can find a bulk supplier. And again thank you :3
I think a toy that suitable for accompany the children when they sleep are good choices. Like a cute teddy bear or big doll.. (^˵◕ω◕˵^)
Looking at things are, we will be going with plushies. Thanks again for the ideas. Happy Holidays and Stay safe.
