New translator for kumo.

    Any one else think we need a new translator for kumo desu ga?
    Raising the dead is incredibly slow and it's not even on his priority list of all compared to slave harem.
    We were almost caught up before thanks to turbo but now....

    Tell me how that makes any sense.
    They are slow because they "don't" want to catch up to the raw?

    How is that acceptable? I thought translators wanted the opposite.
    And the readers expecially want the opposite

    you're being irrational... calm down... its just like manga and anime you don't want to get too close to the original so you make fillers... unless the story is already completed but its not...

    Lol there have been a multiple threads asking new people to translate a novel. They all have been shutdown, because there are already someone translating it. As for why the translations are slow, I haven't read the novel, but I will go with @canaria23 is reason.

    Personally, I think its not really good to have another translator, unless if the translator said explicitly stated that they don't mind. No asking for new translator, unless it has been at least 3 month since the last release.

    Eh, I am used to waiting for months or even years for LN updates, so I don't mind waiting

    The last release for Kumo from Raising Dead was on November 30th. It hasn't even been half a month yet.
    3 months or more is required to request a novel pick up.

    I will temporary move this to the general novel discussion section if other posters want to add some responses.
    But if any of the other mods think this thread should be closed, go ahead.

    Our post says December 1st because of Australian time, and don't worry too much about Kumo desu ga, Nani ka? complaints. The kumo community is pretty bad(the ones that complain, there are nicer ones), and they're all spoiled by Turbo's old speed. If someone really wants to take this series from us promising daily releases then that's fine, RTD's desire is to revive dead novels. The one that wanted to pick this project up has been busy nursing his father in the hospital. So please look over the this inconvenience.

    Man... as a leecher... we have to be patient. I don't want another incident similar to Konjiki no Wordmaster wherein all translators quit.

    KnW is a sad case ;< RtD will not be dropping Kumo to say the very least. The comments are rather annoying, we were thinking about either copy and pasting an automated message at them or reply with their own words in quotations to see if they would realize that they were being rude and should translate themselves if they care that much.

    Also I remember Ren (translator of CD) once had a post about translations and how it would harm the community if there are several translators working on one project.

    Oh, Also it isn't just one guy. RtD is made up of teams.http://raisingthedead.ninja/about/ This is the list of the majority and the summary of the site itself. Am I allowed to post links? Anyway it is made of individuals and each team has a different quality and speed, we general shoot for once a week on series that are average size and once every 2 weeks for long series.

    The excuse "But its almost caught up to the raws" doesn't really fly for Kumo; since there is at LEAST a chapter a day released of the raws... If they did a chapter every two days, they'd never catch up to the raws unless the author takes a break. Anyway I am willing to give Raising the Dead a chance, since RL is the enemy of speedy translations. I still miss Turbo's speed though and my daily Kumocchi got me through the day... Its a hard slog without it ;_;
