They were never "proper father and daughter", if you actually read the story, you would know that Latina never considered Dale to be her father, ever. Both in the novel AND in the manga. It's plainly obvious tbh. Latina had her own parents, and if any of the humans involved raised her, it would be Kenneth and Rita. Dale was more like a big brother or older friend type of relationship with her.

Banning such content is understandable, but if they're banning anime like that due to incest? That's hypocrisy right there.

 

They may not even do the daughter wife thing in the anime though. It depends how early the signs show up, and I haven't read it, but it is entirely possible they will focus on the sugary sweetness and drop it before it encroaches into the more disturbing territory.

Raphitalia is also quite a lot older when she meets Naofumi. She’s what, between 8-11? That’s still disgustingly young, but tweenage enough that it’s plausible she “sees Naofumi as a man” to paraphrase. He could reasonably be a crush (though it would make Naofumi a predatory pedo to act on it).

Latina isn’t even in kindergarten when Dale adopts her. Kindergarters don’t “see someone as a man.” Period, end of story. They are developmentally incapable of it. This attempt by the author to justify is squicky.

 

reading the spoilers I don't think they animate more than 12 eps and leave things before it gets clear the direction of the plot
