Recommendations No harem, Prefer game elements/xianxia.

Yeah, if you read that abomination of a manhua and use it as an excuse to not read the LN, then just go ahead and leave. Leaving aside the unquestionable fact that they turned the story into crap, they added so much nonsense into it that you may as well consider them as 2 different things.

You should take a look at Upgrade Specialist in Another World too. It's on wuxiaworld, being translated by He-Man.

 

Don't start Chaotic Sword God again all fighting is how to try making endless throat stabbing interesting for the readers (not really possible )

Doulou Dalu and BTTH both have manhwa adaption (and they are good) DD is fron the translated novel stil ahead BTTH (it's a while I look ) stil behind the manhwa from the story, but both novels have more information then the manhwa

 

Yeah but I read the manhwa first then the novel my addiction start after I started to search for spoiler and found the novel translation and the High School DxD novel (still one of my favorite enjoy every time they finish a book )

 

Ah Japanese novels read Sword Art Online if you see the anime just start reading the 3 arc (I think it's called Alice, just wait until they finish the arc if I can't read it completely I will go insane love the story )

God bless you manhua haters! Some people are really adamant on saying the manhua is not that bad.

You said the manhua adaptation is good? Especially BTTH?
Have you ever compared the two of them? I cant even begin counting the number of crap they added to the storyline.
e.g(based on current translated chapters):
*In manhua after the alchemist tournament, nalan yanran actually confessed to yan xiao? Dafuk?
*During the competition, Yan li actually attacked xiao yan and the crowd using poison and not one of three dou huangs present can stop him from running away the first time?
*Liu Ling is turned into soft pretty boy?
*Gu Te is the one who give xiao yan the medicine to restore Yao lao? Again, Dafuk? He didnt even show himself for the past hundred chapters.
*And dont start on the kyubi like transformation when xiao yan absorb the green lotus flame, and yun yun actually has to turned into sakura and begging him to return to normal.

This is just a fragment of what i can list the things that are wrong with manhua, please reconsider your judgement when you said the manhua is good. And try to read the novel before saying anything.

it's boring when it's 100% the same and like the most stuff not even wanted , cause they don't want to just copy the novel (it's not like translating) so you can't really compare them. the novel for itself is good so is the manhwa if you compare them it's like you compare apples with peaches, you have the same problem in nearly all films series anime which are based on a book or novel, you have to shorten or change something so it's fits. This is sometimes good sometimes bad, example if you never read the book you can consider a film as decent but if you read the book you have most times background information, and simply more text, (how do you think this fits all in a 1,5hour movie not possible ) it's the same with anime or manhwa adaption, there is a huge difference what you can write and what you can express with pictures and small text (my opinion never compare different mediums of something)

 

agreed.... They added so much useless crap so that the manhwa would be "cooler" to children.... And then erased or tweaked/destroy all meaningful events into pg13 usless crap that makes little sense.... And hold more value as r15 or r18 information...

to put it simply the novel is more beautiful and dirty while the manhwa is styrofoam pulled from the novel with glitter added to make a child safe mockery of the novel. Same with BTTH... But BTTH's kiddy filter wasn't quite as bad as the dalu douluo one... But still pretty bad..... (the novels are much much better and make a hell of a lot more sense. Certainly more emotionally moving too)

 

What you said is correct but that's for movies with limited screen time but is there limit to manhua chapters? Honestly, i know that the novel has a lot of details information but if you going to change the characters personality and the order of things that happen, you might as well change the name of series and announced it as some sort of fanfiction, rather than destroying the work.

(i know this is an oxymoron because the author probably approve of the manhua before the publication, and its kinda vexing that that the author actually allow someone to blemish his own work. Money really makes the world go round huh)

 

Just my opinion but I don't need the manhwa if it's the same as the novel kinda boring to read the same thing again, just sayn and honestly if you just look at the manhwa itself ito really good.

 

Everytime the current translated arc is finished, i will compare it to manhua. And there's only one adjective that can be used to describe myself when reading the manhua, 'disgusted'.
Honestly i have to really struggle to continue reading that abomination.

 

Then don't read it like all novels we don't like drop it, if you continue reading it it just show you like it

 

Well i actually want to prove to people that say the manhua is not that bad that it is not the case. I cant really change people's opinion but at least i can make people want to read the novel, because what irks me the most is when people said "i wont read the novel until it catches up to the manhua"

 

Tbh I enjoy BTTH the manhua more than the novel. The manhua is only loosely based on the novel and more entertaining imo.

 

If you add Shadow Rogue's harem and Chaotic Sword God's harem you'd get a small village of women, so I don't recommend either.

 

King's Avatar, maybe. MC plays a game rather than being trapped in one. Good characters, good action, good writing, plot's a bit on the slow side.

World of Cultivation, its a bit of a slow starter, but very well written with lots of variation and strong characterization.

Five Way Heaven, same author as WoC. Its translation isn't as far along or as fast, but so far its just as good of a series.

Card Disciple, only try if you like WoC and FWH. Translation is painfully slow so if you're not a fan of the author, it won't be worth it. From what is translated though, it looks like it will be a good series.

Stellar War Storm, sci-fi/xianxia mix with game elements. Translation is still still in the relatively early chapters though.

Stunning Edge, one of the best with a female lead, not sure if that's a selling point for you or not.

Play to Live. Its Russian (I think) rather than Asain, but its one of the deeper stories out there about being trapped in a game and can be found (in English) on Amazon.

Also check out RRL, the no harem thing can be hard to find, but there are tons of stories with game elements.
