I honestly don't remember any of the kids actually having names or personalities. Did I just forget them, or is the author retconning them in?

 

There are two that will be prominent...the good friend and the bully boy. Everyone else is mob. The two are coming into the story soon.

Cain doesnt get anything from Ren.
Ryu gets a few things from Ren, and he is forgiven.
Kuro is super fast and is usually snuggling up to Ren's boobs.

They spend a bunch in the Capital, Ren teaching them how to read/write and whatnot.
An adventurer party also comes along.
Guild Member tries to snag Ren into teaching adventurers, but gets smacked down when Guild Master comes along.
GM and Ren talk about properly teaching Adventurers how to read/write, to get them a bit more knowledge, so that promising adventurers don't just die because of misinformation or lack thereof.
Ren invents some Carts for the Adventurer Gim and Triela's party.

Ren moves in with Triela and company, making their house better. (Except for the boy's room)
There was a festival, and Ren ate a lot of food.
There she saw Neil and Cain.
And then she also sees Beck, but she appraises him and sees the name Vector.
Hiding perhaps? But she sees through it and notices that he's royalty.

Her blacksmithing is doing well, she's now able to deconstruct mythril into wires, and weave them into clothes, such as her hood.
And her underwear. Frilly underwear.
Beck (or Vector) shows up in her Smithery to request a magic sword. He has Neil along.
Ren was going to ignore the request, but then Vector wanted to save Ren's Hometown, where the Orphanage is.
Ren makes a sword called Blazer, a shield, and a hood for Vector.
Vector, is an adventurer. But in reality, he's Royalty.

Upon learning the news of a massive subjugation request in their hometown, Triela and co. start packing to move towards there.
Ren being Ren drops her golem carriage, forces all the girls inside, and all the guys on the outside.
Btw, at this point, its winter time.
They manage to get to their hometown, but let Triela and co. go in first; while Ren is setting her base up in the same forest she put her house up.
She did her ritual.
Anyways, they head over to the orphanage, made them eat food, train Triela's party, upgraded some of their equipment (EXCEPT FOR CAIN AND THE BOYS)
And they're preparing for the subjugation.

Ren's at her house, when she notices a single person coming to her house.
She spots a grandpa with black armor equipped and a spear. He says he's a hunter.
Ren's like "No, you look too shiny for a hunter."
He asks for some food, and Ren's like "Fine." and feeds him.
As thanks, he gives Ren an Elder Dragon's wing, since he noticed Ren's Mythril Clothing. An elder dragon's skin is going to be better than what she's wearing now.
She tried to appraise the guy, but her appraisal failed. (He's higher levelled)

Duyring the subjugation, seems like there was a stampede, while Vector and co. are out subjugating the Frost Salamander.
Ren, Norn and Bell all went into the battlefield disguised. Ren with Silver Hair, and her clothes have been colored silver.
Norn and Bell became jet black. So the start rampaging.
a Giant appears and Ren drops several magics to stop it, eventually she fires off her Sniper skill with an exploding knife.
Pop goes the head.
Vector and co. are returning as soon as the Giant was killed.
Ren wanted the giant's magic core but unfortunately she was already empty and rode on Norn away.

Vector knew it was Ren, so he stopped Triela and Marciel to give the Giant's Magic Stone to Ren when they meet up with her.

 

I wonder if anyone's planning to do anything to free all the kids that were previously enslaved. It doesn't feel like it, and I'm not sure why its not on any of their priority lists.

 

If I recall, later on we find out about the enslaved kids.

 

I wonder how easy it is to recognize mithril at a glance. Also wondering why making mithril threads raised the Steel Threads skill.

 

Mithril, usually looks different from regular steel/black iron. Its like a silvery blue from most depictions (i dont remember what the author said about Mithril here)
As for why Steel Threads skill was raised instead, honestly i think the author just wanted to have a catch all, but named it Steel Threads Skill. xD~

 

Well, she dyed it, so it'd be more about the texture and other features of the metal rather than its natural color. Unless it takes dyes poorly in some fashion of course.

 

Either the person who checked it had appraisal OR they had good knowledge with metal workings/fittings.
