She could just hire someone else to teach Cain, or make all of her friends work together to teach him as their homework assignment. With that many teachers, at least one of them should be able to do the job.

 

I wonder if word will get 'round about the classes, and if so, how many will show up begging to join the next one.

 

If Ren is smart enough, she could (as has been sort of suggested), palm the teaching of others off on her current students once their course is finished.
This has two advantages, (1) it means she doesn't have to deal with the new students, & (2) it gives her friends income streams independent of adventuring & Ren's further efforts, while also being near risk free.

 

They've already said that they're no good at teaching others though.

 

It's a skill, it can be learned, especially if they start while Ren is still teaching them (i.e. she teaches them in the morning, they teach their students in the afternoon or evening).

Even just basic reading & arithmetic should be worth something to the Adventurers, particularly if they involve the Adventurers guild (& the guild might be able to get them training in how to train others), the guild would also benefit from their members being able to do more & thus earn more (not to mention guild members learning to manage their money better, maybe).

they do in fact show up... demanding to be taught at five coppers per lesson. Ren gets annoyed, and sends them on their way. Guildmaster is upset, because there is a demand for teaching adventurers how to read, and he’s cheap. Ren pretty much shames him into doing it at the guild.

 

I wonder why she didn't just bring out her horse and ride that.

Also mildly surprised that she didn't already have the Riding skill from her daily routine and her golem experiments

 

Is there a skill called “Mecha Horse Riding”?

I kinda expected retribution to take a bit longer than that. I wonder why the guild master is visiting the MC. I can't recall her doing anything particularly shocking lately that people aren't hiding for her. Well, unless he's there for the same reason as the scammer.
