Novelupdates is crashing the internet app for my phone. I have a Samsung galaxy s6. It seems to be only the pages where novels are listed. It seems to be an overload of uploading/downloading.
The app is literally called "internet." It is the one that comes automatically with a Samsung. I cleared my history and cleared all the open tabs but it didn't seem to help. I downloaded the beta version of the "internet" app (basically the same app but they use it as a testing platform before installing on the "normal" app"). This app seems to work fine for novelupdates.
I don’t want to sound stupid, but have you tried clearing your cookies / cache for the regular internet browser? That a newer version of the same app works suggests to me that it’s either a problem with the app or a problem with your instance of the app. I haven’t heard this from anyone else, so clearing the offline browser data is a good start. Please keep in mind that this may clear out any saved passwords.
It's not you who is stupid but me. Clearing the cookies/cache seemed to work. It's weird that only novelupdates made the app crash though.
You probably reached the limit of local storage allocated per site for NU. This lead to weird behavior like the app crashing. PS Internet app is based on Chromium.
Yes there is a limit, and some things can cause to reach a limit like ads. If they store some local data then go into a endless loop, they can max out the storage. The other possibility is corruption of the storage.
Yes, if the ad is using local storage to target, and the data is cleared, it starts from scratch on whatever caused the loop. As for corruption case, memory is set aside. The moment you clear it, it would set up a new allocation.
