So i found this site called [REDACTED] That seems to take updates from novelupdate and directly posts the translation of a chapter to their own site without crediting the translator. What do you guys think about this? PARTH EDIT: Don't link to aggregators.

they should ask the translators if it's ok to post the work there, and they should also credit the translators. I also feel that they shouldn't host the chapters there.

lmao i remember a site completely got ruined because it did that... and that is not a novel updates rip off. The thing that differentiates novelupdates from sites like that, is the reading list. Or else novelupdates would of been considered a rip off of aho-updates.
They are copy pasting some translated works making it look like they we're the ones who translated them. Novelupdates posting updates that are link to the translators own site/work so i don't think the reading list is the only one that differentiates them from that.
Novelupdates links to the site, which then gives wuxiaworld ad revenue. Thus novelupdates good. Other site steals translation. Other site bad.
They maybe just rehost and create reading list so that not really that bad I guess. And most of translators don't mind that I guess.
Rehost nope they're just stealing translators work and not even putting some recognition i think translators will not like that so that site sucks. Like @TheDarkness said to put it simply NU = good other sites = bad
Ya'kno, if aggregators want to post other people's work, I wish they'd just post the stuff that has disappeared from official sites, like Tate no Yuusha, which everyone has to depend on shared download links for because the fan community had a temporary brain fart and forgot that WN != LN when it was licensed, or Machine Doll, which had multiple volumes just deleted by the translator for literally no good reason at all, and definitely isn't seeing an english release any time soon.
"NovelUpdates rip off site" - I don't even see what that site has to do with novelupdates to begin with... The difference is like that between the Heavens and Earth. What could I think about them? Well, they are not exactly some nice people. I at least got a nice laugh from them when I read their "Copyrights"...
