Yup, its like those optical illusions. The old site Dark mode (A) and the new site Dark mode (B). Some people believe they are different even though its not. Just cant help it.

 

@rwxwuxiaworld this is something that bothered me in the past as well, but can we have distinction between completed novels?

I mean, Chinese Completed Novels
Korean completed ones.

I see the completed novels page and I cringe
And things are bound to get messier as you complete more and more novels.

I think the "completed novels" site looks really good with the picture and info. But I think it looks a little messy. Maby better to organize them the same way as everything else. To wuxia books, Chinese, Korean, and original?

And another thing. When I watch it on my phone. I need to scroll soooooo much to get to the novel I want xd bc the information takes so much space. Maby have the same function NU have with "show more"?

Maybe add a [CN] tag after Chinese novels titles, [KO] for korean novels and [OG] for originals. For example:

7 Killers [CN]
Acquiring Talent in a Dungeon [KO]
Blue Phoenix [OG]

Or they could simply add the country flag beside the titles.

 

Since the vast majority of the changes have gone into effect I'll give a small review from a tablet user perspective.

I'm liking the over all layout of the site, it's now much more touchscreen friendly. Though I find when I try scrolling past the "Editors Choice" window instead of scrolling I just advance the page and then make sure to touch and drag outside the window. I also no longer need to resize the page to view the page while reading.

There is one feature I'm missing a lot however. The old FrontPage had all the active novels listed with a drop down list of the last three or so updates. This made it easy for me to find the novels I read(DMW, IRFN, and ICDS). Before I would lastly just check the front page and quickly find out if there was a new chapter, now with the new frontpage I either have to catch the new chapters in the release list, dig through the WW home menu to navigate to the novel page, or look through my list of favorites NU links to see if there was an update. I sometimes catch the new chapter from the NU release page, but it's easy to miss at times. So while it's not a deal breaker, it's still frustrating when looking for new chapters of the less active novels.

 

Is Forums on a separate login because though I'm logged in when I go to forums and try to sign in it keeps saying wrong password but I'm log in at the Main site with no problems now,

 

There is one thing that is bugging me constantly since the new website has been released that there is a lot of empty space on the right side of the announcements. I think something should be added there so that it would look more professional. It looks bland as it is now.

 

There are things planned for that space.

I really like the new site and am really excited. I also wanted to suggest that I found the completed section confusing at first. I was looking for Korean novels that happened to be completed, and it wasn’t clear that they were in the completed section as opposed to the Korean section. Perhaps you can give some indication that the other sections are for active novels? This is just nitpicking though because the site is awesome!

 

Yes, I think we need to change it up a bit.

 

I think the biggest win for me would be
"Auto-Bookmarking"

Although I have not tried it yet but it sounds similar to the other site and that has been a godsend for folks like me that jump around and could put novels off for months at a time to keep track of where I left off at.

It was a bit hard to keep track for me perhaps I'm not familiar enough with how it works as the last time I tried, it seems very manual.

With that being said, I want thank you guys for the great job in aggregating all the updates from the many different translation sites!

 

True that, we have a one stop shop for all novel release for all Asian languages. From the time I joined NU, I have deleted all those bookmarks and I dont expect or want someone else to do the same thing as it will be a waste of time for the translation site and us. But that is my choice.
