It's difficult to say, it just seems to be a problem for some new members. I remember being irrationally intimidated by older members when I started here too. Anyway, you could also treat this as a thread for old members to meet each other properly too~! Some of us don't cross paths very often.

Good question, to be honest. At what point do new members consider other members "old members"? I only recently got the shock of realising I'm "old" now... And for that reason, I didn't specify it in the OP.

I suppose I count as old, but I think I lurked for about two years, I mostly comment on other people's posts rather than make my own content, and I'm not hugely active, so most people probably don't know me too well. No need to be intimidated by my profile pic, I'm a pretty chill guy. I'm in the process of writing two novels, the first of which can be found by clicking the banner in my signature, or simply searching 'fork' in either royalroad or scribblehub, and the other just through the link below. I'm no pro writer by any means, but if you're just starting off writing yourself, I should be able to give you a handful of tips that'll help you out, so feel free to ask.
