I’m reading volume 12 rn, is it just me or does Ainz really not know that the bipedal sheep’s skins that were used to make scroll are humans’?
Ooohh boy. Incidentally, do you know what happened to the Orcs that didn’t fought with Demiurge that they were so scared?
I hope Neia doesn't die,I enjoy those 'misunderstood character' tropes this series is rife with. On the other hand I'm wondering what kind of death Remedios will be getting.
Yeah, translation is completed. It should reach NU soon. Nigel (the translator) has been posting his progress every day for the past few weeks, so people who follow his blog could read as he translated (the blog is the same as the v12 on NU). If you go there, beware of spoiler images though. I'd advise you to block images.
Since tl has been complete for a while now anybody up for discussing vol 13? I gotta admit I've been slightly disappointed by it. To me it was simply an overextended continuation of vol 12. I know the arc spans both but no new plotlines in over 400 pages? Imo the page count also stems from the author getting off point a lot more, reducing tension to near nil in the process. Even the identity revelation in the epilogue was pretty foreseeable. Though I did like the neija parts except for the infiltration thing. The author phrased it pretty well in the afterword when he called the volume/book raw I think. Maybe it was a rushed work due to Publisher demands?
Yeah, it was kinda obvious throughout the story though. And of no real consequence for the whole affair. Also regarding the sheep thing, I think there were some hints at Ainz suspecting or knowing demiurge uses humans for such purposes but he decides to employ a don't see don't care policy. In vol. 9 when the tomb is 'raided' it get's clear he doesn't care what happens to humans unrelated to nazarick. He even decrees them to become living monster seed beds after all.
But then why was he so shock back then when rescuing the orc camp and heard about the demons or something stripping human skin? Who’s the doppelgänger?
Inconsistency due to the author is my guess, though you could venture he doesn't know what exactly demiurge does to prisoners. Given that he uses scrolls a lot maybe the revelation hit him somewhat. Spoiler: Doppelgaenger Gaspond
when demiurge reported that they managed to catch a kind of chimera that walk on two feet, Ainz took that report literally but Sebastian who was there at that time, frowned at demiurge's report. that was one of the reasons why sebastian strongly objected that tsuare would be assigned in feeding the "animal" proposed by demiurge
Well, Momonga is still playing as the wisest supreme being. So they all think hes being sarcastic for the abelion sheep thinking it was a monster and not humans. And we readers know that he really thinks of it as 2 legged monster. I find it kinda short... But the epilogue was good.
