Discussion Parth37955's Rant-Circlejerkers and Jerks in general

So I meant to make this earlier, but felt lazy. As of late, the behavior and amount of "circlejerkers" on this site has been getting on my nerves.

For those people who don't know what a circlejerker is, they are people who post flammatory comments, just to get likes and feel good about their otherwise clearly worthless lives. They also think they're opinions are the best and everyone else's doesn't matter. For example, someone who calls japanese novels shit and praise the crap out of CN's, and then argues with other people and insults just cause they have a different opinion.

Just earlier, there was a thread about FBT's (the MGA guy)'s retirement. People showed up just to call MGA shit. >_> seriously? There is a freaking time and place for everything. I don't care if you hate the novel, the thread wasn't about the novel. It was about FBT. You guys were just shameful and rude.

Now I used to be a circlejerker, specifically for ISSTH and TTNH. I also bashed on other novels, ATG, TDG, and PMG in particular. But I never insulted another person based on their beliefs. I got close, but I never crossed the line. For the most part, I've grown up, so I don't act a 5-year-old anymore (unlike some people). I actually have a life and don't live to troll internet forums.

Basically, to the circlejerkers on this site, I really, really despise you. You guys turn an otherwise civil forum into a bloodbath. You guys need to take a long hard look at your lives and consider what you're actually writing. You are putting yourself out there with every word you write. If you want to be seen as a total jackass, go right ahead. Just know, you are not welcomed on this site. I will be more then happy to permanently ban you from this site. I don't need that kind of toxicity. You don't contribute anything. Good riddance, I say.

Disclaimer: this doesn't mean you can't say, "I hate...". Just look at the time and place and don't insult other users.

and? that is your opinion. noone should be insulted for their opinion. Japanese novels, Chinese novels. To me they're all the same. Of all the translated novels on the site, there is a mountain of shit, and a few diamonds in the rough.

yeah? I never said you did. I was explaining what I meant. I'm not saying you can't say that you don't like japanese novels. I was specifying what is inappropriate.

 

uh, yeah. we don't really do it much, but I feel like making one-day bans the norm. Warning points do nothing. Then elevating to higher bans the second offense, and then straight-up permanent ban.

well, yeah, I mean, you can elaborate and say more. Just don't call other people's opinion shit, kay?

 

Constructive criticism is criticism designed to empower and improve. Criticizing a novel that is already complete and whose author is not only never going to see your criticism, but doesn't even speak your language, is in no way whatsoever constructive or useful.

Just sayin'~

I agree that pure hate posts are completely worthless, though. At least we can discuss legit criticism~
