Plot armor meaning

Really, i really don't know what is 'plot Armor'. I often saw the 'plot armor' word and confused. Someone please explain 'plot armor' mean

It means that certain character is protected by the story and thus can't die. Ex: Fairy Tail....

 

in novels plot armor means special circumstances or anything for aiding mc.
like mc never dies or suffers even in adverse circumstances.

 

"I will defeat you with my nakama power"

 

When an event should NATURALLY kill or harm or displease the character, but the story starts acting up and bullies the plot in order to benefit the character instead.

IE. Frodo and Sam are stuck on a raging volcano. Plot armour in the form of Giant Eagles comes and saves them.

Like character is assaulted by top powerhouse but gets saved by another top powerhouse actually passing by.

 

Now, imagine this. The MC has nothing but a stick he picked up from the ground a few hours ago and sh*tty leather armor, he were to fight against the 13 Gods of Chaos, who would win?

it practically means anybody else will die if they did it or are in the same situation but since its the mc he has the best luck ever and is that 1 in a million who can do it, or survive the 1 in a million thing

usually something illogical happens to benefit MC. But sometimes plot armor works on villains etc too.
Sometimes its saving life sometimes its too convienient power up or finding legendary treasure , inheritence etc

 

Example: You have to fight the demon lord and you pick up a random stick, with plot armor the stick is actually the staff of a legendary magician and make you able to one-shot the demon lord.

some sort of dumb luck that shield the MC from imminent death is the usual.
evil guy:"you don't give me face, ah kill ya"
MC:"shit fck, dis fcker too stronk. like 10 realm stronger. i be dead"
-sudden appearance of good guy grandpa who conveniently 1 stage stronger than the bad guy-
grandpa:"i know you. you good. let me help"
MC:"thanks. #plotarmor #MeMCrulez"

 

I'm assuming you've actually read the novels and not just watched LoTR in Peter Jackson's warped vision. If you really consider that plot armor, considering that the eagles and their relationship with Gandalf (a demi-god, read the Silmarillion if you don't know what I mean), you have a rather warped view of plot armor. Tolkien never really used what should be called plot armor. Unlike Xianxia and most modern fantasy, he wrote his stories with heavy prices being paid for victory, rather than pebbles on the road to supreme power.

 

i wanna see the plot armor broken through at least once...

 

You can't.

 

All MCs dead or dying! The horror and the good fortune cuz a lot less Xianxia (they horribly rely on plot armor)
