Let's say, you do whatever you do on an average day and suddenly a man appears and asks a question "I willing to give you immortality but the cost is sent back 2000 year to past" Will you accept it? And what will you do?
Nope. I don’t want to live in the past. And where would I be sent to? Same place I currently am? No thanks. Even if I’m fully immortal, I don’t want to live without plumbing or books (first novel was “The Tale of Genji” which was written around a thousand years ago, so I’d have to wait over a thousand years, since I wouldn’t likely be in Japan) or having to worry about having to marry someone in order not to seem suspicious to people about how I’m able to survive without eating anything since women weren’t allowed to earn money back then, I believe. No wait, I’m in the forest with the Native Americans. Will I be able to find a peaceful tribe that won’t treat me as a demon for having pale skin?
If I'm immortal, 2000 years is meaningless to me, so I would accept. Then I would learn all of the knowledge that was lost to the ravages of time.
I mean if you're immortal in the sense of not aging but still being able to die from being killed, starvation, etc. then you might not even live as long as you would've now. Personally I'm confident enough to be able to survive assuming I don't get injured/handicapped/too sick, but who is to say that you wouldn't get killed? And even then just because you're surviving it doesn't mean that you'll have nice living standards...
Sorry, but in my view, "immortal" means that you are unable to die from ANY external stimuli. What you are describing is merely "unaging", which imo is a far cry from being immortal.
Try reading what the poll says, there were plenty of options, none of which mentioned being unable to die (closest would be the one which says you'd be reborn on the next day). And either way, regardless of what the poll said or what you think, I already prefaced my post with the hypothetical, "if you're immortal in the sense of not aging..." If in your hypothetical "I became immortal and was transported 2000 years back into the past" scenario you're literally immune to death, then great for you and feel free to ignore my previous post...
Unnn... Actually from poll is mean you are unable to died just different versions of immortality, regenerative immortality is like Deadpool without fancy weakness, anyway go here for details ->https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Immortality<-
