Discussion [Poll] You were abducted by a celestial being...

I'm reading Suijin No Ikenie and got inspired to make this thread.

One day you were minding your own business and all of a sudden you got abducted by a celestial being.

You find yourself in a perfectly white space that is completely empty with nothing inside of it.

The Celestial explains to you that you caught his/her fancy, and the Celestial is going to forcibly marry you regardless of your opinion. However, since you're a bit young right now, the Celestial plans to lock you inside of an isolated dimension for a couple hundred years until you age a bit in maturity to match his/her tastes.

The Celestial doesn't care what you think and you're going to be confined for a very long time regardless of what you say. Additionally, the Celestial seems to be a very arrogant and selfish person, and s/he is not interested in hearing what you want. Furthermore the Celestial is incredibly powerful and you are basically like an ant in comparison.

Out of consideration for you, the Celestial asks what s/he should put in the white room so you don't go insane from the emptiness. The Celestial has the ability to conjure almost anything, although there are a few limitations:

1. No part of you can leave the room.
2. You cannot die inside of the room.
3. You are the only soul that is permitted inside the room. Illusions of living things/people are allowed but they are only illusions in the end.
4. Nothing inside the room can influence anything in the outside world. The implication of this is that you can receive information from the Outside, but you cannot send any information out.
5. The room can be expanded to an infinite size.
6. The room is completely separated in time and space from your original Universe.
7. The Celestial's true body will not be inside of the room with you.
8. The Celestial retains full control and authority over everything in the room.

• What would you ask the Celestial to put in your room?
• How would you decorate it?
• How would you spend your time in isolated confinement?
• Could you ever find happiness in this sort of situation?

 

I thought it was going to say "You were abducted by a celestial dragon...."

 

A computer with a internet connection. Since i'll probably be stuck here for a long time, might as well enjoy the little things. Game consoles and a phone.

Clean and comfortable. Since i'm making this my second home.

Browsing the internet, playing games, writing novels or drawing comics, contemplating that this is what its like living like a neet, acting despair for just the usual buisiness.....repeat steps...

Yep. I survive a place worse than hell. This probably is the closest to paradise as i can get.

Keep in mind that information transfer is only one-way.

You won’t be able to play networked games or post on forums or anything that leaves a trace of your existence in the outside world.

A smart phone and the best gaming computer I will also have world's best net and infinite money I guess online chat would also keep me sane.

Can you still buy (or at least aquire) new games? If so, then I'm with arcadia, give me a computer and a chair and I'll be set for quite a long time.
Otherwise, some pets (even if just illusions), nature to explore (heck if the space is infinite, just a copy of the entire Earth).

 

Hmmm does that mean I can have a chat bot companion but it will probably be only from my own imagination? Or can it be fed information from the outside world?

 

1st question why would anyone want me? 2nd are they playing a punishment game?

Connect it to the internet, run simulation to make things interesting. Basically make virtual mmo and sell it to the real world to revive mmo. Do what I want, while doing what s/he want. Done

 

You know what, I almost wanted misread your post to '...abducted by Celestial Being...' so I can hope of getting my own Gundam, or even a real, true glimpse of it.

Online chat would not be possible since you would basically have only read-only access to the Internet. You can't send any information out from the room, but you can receive.

See above. Selling the MMO to the real world would qualify as influencing/interfering with the real world, which would not be possible.

I don't see why not. They should work find as long as they're not multiplayer!

 

Ugh, I hate that idea. I'd probably ask for something that let me reach the domain of the Gods and kill her or something. Just cuz the idea of losing my freedom to something like that infuriates me to the core.

I was a merchant mariner and I’m use to being away from everything for months at a time. All I needed was my novels, food, drinks and games.
When I heard this question I couldn’t help, but think about the novel “Mother Of Learning” and “Everyone Else is a Returnee”. So I would lean towards that direction.

• How would you decorate it?

Lots of training aids and knowledge.

Training.
