As of late, a movie resurfaced in my mind and I want to watch it again. Unfortunately, I remember so little about it. It was old, took place in a world where there was essentially no land left and it was a post-apocalyptic sort of movie. There were also ocean raiders, machine guns, and slaves I think. Also, thanks to anyone who helps!
Sounds like it. Nostalgia critic did a review of it that I found amusing and he made a good point that a mutant that can breathe underwater in that world is a useful evolutionary advantage and thus it doesn’t make sense to harm or vilify them. And that part where that worker in the bottom of the ship greets the raging inferno as thank god. Also, the geographical coordinates (longitude and latitude) for mt Everest in the movie are completely wrong. http://channelawesome.com/nostalgia-critic-waterworld/
You are thinking about a movie which is ocean version of MadMax I think. The protag has gills too I think. Waterworld maybe?
Nah there were a lot of them at that time, global warming PR was getting mainstream then and there was a fad for these kind of "flooded worlds", it's just that very few of them were any good and so died out so fast most people don't even remember them any more.
I always found waterworld kind of silly. There are so many outrageous inconsistencies it just Killed the movie for me.
yeah but it has raw butt and my first access to semi-nude back then. Not to mention that sweet catamaran maneuvering. I don't know how much that was exaggerated but it was cool nonetheless.
yeah... I heard a lot of people were attracted to Kevin Costner. The catamaran stunts were fairly realistic though. Should check out those boats when their racing. More then a few actually get flipped from time to time because the crew got a little over eager. --edit-- LoL just doing a Google search had videos of them flying on hydrofoil, and one nearly up on its side, so yeah.
