If translators should print out the version, sign it and sent it back, I wonder if any have had the idea to change the content of the contract, sign it and sent it back...

I maybe very wrong in my judgment, but I think it's all your fault )))) "they came on your ship, when you went to reach them for licenses ".

Now they gonna ruin your city and others and spread like a plague.

It has NEVER been Yen Press. YP did a hostile takeover, but they were professional about it.

Qidian has been, through and through, a lying fuck that doesn't admit that they've lied to us, and are trying to fuck everybody over while trying to make themselves the sole winner of the market.

So? Those terms are very similar to the terms of any employment contract... the work you do is not your own and you will be fired if you badmouth them. My current position has even harsher terms

If worse comes to worse though, we can just all go back to novels the way they were before (and still are).

    Yes, same here.

However, that's just the companies covering their asses.

With Qidian, you never actually know, since they've blatantly lied and have never admitted it. You can expect them to pull a more shady shit on their translators, not giving a fuck about them.

It's amazing they can actually have a thick enough face to pretend to be the good guys while their contract are completely tyrannical and blatantly suppressing people's basic rights

the problem though is if DMCA happens most translators lost motivation for it because they cannot publicly have their translations on the websites like we currently do. that is why a ton of JP light novels just fade out of existence.

Not fired if you badmouth them. PERPETUAL non-disparagement clause for contract workers. Meaning they technically can be sued if they ever say anything bad about Qidian, even YEARS after no longer working for them.

Also, look into what normal author/publisher/translator contracts are like!

also before anyone talks of suing, you need to understand that you can only really challenge a contract in the Juristiction it is based in. If that Juristiction is the US then good on you. If its China then no hope have ye

Not only that, they do it in the shittiest of conditions. Qidian enslaving their translators is them being "nice"
