Discussion Question about "NTR"

Okay, to start off, I'm not asking for NTR recommendations. I, being uninitiated in certain circles, only recently learned about what netori meant (as opposed to netorare).

So, I got to thinking. Netorare = NTR. But Netori is 3 syllables (ne-to-ri) and netorare is 4 (ne-to-ra-re). I get that NTRR is annoying to type and hard to pronounce, so people just use netorare = NTR.

My question is: Do you think of NTR being either netori or netorare? Just netorare? Or something else entirely? Does netori deserve to fall under the same acronym, or a different one? And why the heck am I even asking these questions?

I originally viewed them as the same thing, until I saw a line while reading a Japanese novel, something about netori is ok netorare is not. So that got me to googling what the difference was. In the end, I don't believe that many people do know the difference and associate them as the same thing or they don't care enough to separate the meanings.

But hey that's just my opinion.

 

B, but I'm the type of person who likes pointless questions sometimes, even if people look at me funny. Like if two quarters were to breed, what would the result be? A penny, being $0.01? A dime, being the smallest? Or another quarter?

 

Currently NTR tag uses both Netori which is my fav tag and Netorare which is my most hateful tag. I tried 2 suggest this b4 2 change the tagging system but sadly there's only a few netori novel around(right now)

 

NTR usually covers both netori and netorare, but talking about it in forums and such, people usually use it to mean netorare. Also sites that uses the tag NTR usually will not differentiate the two and have it cover both.

 

They're fundamentally the same. The only difference is who you identify as.

Net ori happens in alot of stories that we simply just ignore like in atg when Yun Che takes the princess. Think back to how many arranged marriages an mc breaks up aND steals the bride. Now net or are we feel alot more like Alice since it doesn't show up as much and when it happens the mc is usually completely oblivious so we feel sorry for him

Well it should cover both however, when you say NTR most ppl will think netorare, like the first commentor for instance, which do you think he is, netori god or netorare god

 

Netori is just ntr from the perspective of the person stealing the girl.

NTR tag covers up both Netori and Netorare. Although they are polar opposites of each other.
English translators tend to add up words: so Ne-to-ra-re can turn into Ne To Rare (something like that), and Ne-to-ri can become Ne To Ri. And hence NTR tag is created.
Warning: Japanese people don't speak or write as NTR but rather write or speak as directly netorare or netori.

 

Just netorare. You wouldnt see NTR tag in a netori novel like ATG.
