Hi guys, anyone here knows how to convert a PDF file into Jpeg format?

My book was accepted by an online store for retail sale and they asked for a jpeg cover image (top-down view).

My cover designer did send me a PDF file before, so I thought it would be simpler to convert it to Jpeg format myself.

I Googled for help and I found lots of links to online pdf/jpeg converters. Are those safe for use?

If you don't trust them you can download GIMP (something like photoshop but freeware), open the pdf with it and then export it to jpeg.
PS: I have no idea whether free sites in the internet are legit or not, but if somebody did put in the work then I sure as hell wouldn't let somebody claim it as theirs if the site you used turned out to be shady.

I believe that all you need to do is right click the image inside of the pdf file and click save as image or something. PDF is a kind of a container, and images inside generally stay as images.

That said, what I do is open the pdf in Photoshop. Easiest way to break out the components in the pdf.

Those online converters are safe to use for daily usage. But if you prefer doing it offline, try using IrfanView rather than GIMP.

Take a screenshot if you're really lazy.

Before you do anything to your PDF file...make a few copies as PDF's and store them somewhere safe. Depending on the size of the file and your processing power you may come across some issues when converting.

Screen shot or use Paint.NET (it's not regular windows paint)

You could always ask the cover designer for a .jpg they probably just need to save what ever they were working on in that format.

Guys, I can't screenshot it. The shop needs a high-res version for their online catalog.

Don't you have anymore the original image from when you made the pdf?
Because I don't think you will ever be able to have a high resolution from the picture in the pdf without retouching it...

Hi guys! Thanks for all your advice!

This issue has been resolved! My designer sent me hi-res jpeg files already so I don't have to do any conversion by myself.
