Ch 4: "After Yohan was satisfied, Jung Mi pulled up her pants, her face still red." ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Spoiler: Yohan's Past Yohan’s parents had divorced when he was young. Yohan had no other relatives and spent his childhood alone under the care of his church’s pastor. Both his parents remarried and didn’t bother looking for him. Not once. Of course, Yohan didn’t seek them out either. He never held a grudge against them. Thinking about it now, they had given him a better chance at survival. Because he had nothing to protect. Yohan's past explains why he's the way he is right now. At the very least, I'm happy that our MC isn't willy-washy and naive. Some of the Japanese isekai MCs can learn from Yohan. The pathway Yohan & Jung Mi takes is quite complicated so I'll explain it using Google Maps. From Yeouido Station on the left of the map, they move towards Nodeul-ro [marked as blue]. From there, the road connects to Gukhoe-daero and they continue their way until the Expressway. At this point, Yohan could go back to his home at Kkachiul. But, he actually helps Jung Mi until Bucheon IC. All she needs to do from there is go a bit more south to meet her family at Guwol-dong. Once they split, he backtracks to the blue marker on the right and then walks down to Kkachiul [marked as green]. The entire area is quite secluded, which is one of the reasons why he choose the location to be his shelter. Ch 5: The Kang bros are finally introduced. Gunnnnnnnnnnnnnnn and Hyuk. Man, I love Gunn.
This guy is amoral. I love it! I certainly like the twist...it isn’t the zombies, but people you needed to be wary of. edit: I am liking the new trend of KR novels to go for gritty, cynical and hopefully realistic novels about apocalypse. Also, because this novel is listed as having under 200 chapters, I am hoping the author is willing to go for a thoughtful and fitting ending, rather than milking for profit.
Food rationing has started. Inevitable, but as usual nobody likes it. I’m still surprised they managed to last 6 months WITHOUT rationing! Are they stupid?!
I like how the author is willing to write about the practical details....reminds me of Robinson Crusoe.
He really does get into some nitty gritty details that you wouldnt think about if he didnt mention them.
Much better than “Yu Ilhan makes automatic ballista crossbows”...or the stupidity with giant rubber band.
I like how the author shows the psychological aspects of survivor guilt and how a little privation can make people do dumb things.
I’m surprised the MC hadn’t commented about his dilemma. Strong measures has to be taken for survival. Rationing, responsibility, and clear leadership. Unfortunately, those people who impose the measures are always hated. However, if Yohan leaves, the survivors will realize the wisdom of those measures, and regret Yohan’s departure. You’re never going to be liked, because people never do what needs to be done, without seeing the consequences. They’re never, ever gonna like you. Luckily, he don’t care.
Well, it’s not like the military teaches people how to use a pistol.’ Yohan pushed away his doubts and handed Jung Hwan the .36 caliber revolver, fully loaded with six bullets. @NeriaTL , I’m pretty sure there’s a typo. They hardly make .36 cal anymore, it’s probably a .38 cal. (.36 cal was mainly used in the American Old West, in cap and ball revolvers.) Good chapter, very, scary. The MC is systematically stripping the civilization from these people, because it’s hindering survival.
I'll check on the chapter. Honestly, Re:Survival is translated by our other team who we're good friends with. We have around 5 translators working on different projects to make sure chapters are released fast. So, they might have missed out on it.
