LCD Reverend Insanity/Daoist Gu

I wanted to ask why did you translated the series name as "Reverend Insanity".

 

We were having a discussion in chat and most people felt that 真人 should be Daoist and not Reverend. (I was fine with Reverend).

Plus MC isn't insane (he's smart lol). So Daoist Gu or something lol

 

Ya, I was a bit disappointed because I was kind of expecting someone a bit more like a psychopath (e.g. Leylin or Martial Emperor Reborn's MC) from the name.

And considering @Sky Farrow 's comments / notes from between the chapters and so on warning about if you can't stomach it now it will get even worse while I was thinking more like "That's it?" "Not really that mean / cruel / crazy / insane."


I'm still liking it even though I was expecting more like a lunatic or some psycho from the title, but being pragmatic is fine as well. And personally I'm totally ok with the title since Reverent Insanity is more catchy.

What chat When I went around asking people if RI was better no one said anything so I just went with it >_> And while the MC is smart, he is definitely insane.
I mean, even the characters in the book who understood his true character called him a crazy person
And I guess he is a bit insane... in some demonic ways.

Wait for another dozen chapters, then it begins. At first I was told this guy was evil, but when I started reading I was like, he seems normal... Until thirty plus chapter onwards, then I started to question the morals of this book.

 

Hmm, while he seems slightly insane, he is definitely merciless, heartless and cruel. Gotta wait a bit more for that though.

 

Hah, for some reason I never thought of the potential to rob the other students.

LNMTL chat, Daoist Gu is pretty popular there lol and they all think reverend shouldn't have been used as it doesn't follow the translation of 'daoist' which mean "person who follow the way" while Reverend is an honorific style most often placed before the names of Christian clergy and minister, its way too anchored with Christianity/Church to be deviated in another meaning.

As for insanity part, the MC doesn't seem insane he just have his own way of viewing the world, all actions are made in the goal to benefit him his brother or his sect, maybe if a psychopath is considered insane then its OK, anyway its the reverend part that make us cringe.

Does the novel have an LNMTL version there?

Well it's set as RI now and changing it back will cause a lot of troublesome setbacks + disturbing Tony etc to change names blablabla...
At the time I'm told this novel went by Daoist Gu/Reverend Insanity so I chose the latter because firstly I am under the impression Daoist feels too pure for this MC (and reminds me of Taoism, a peaceful religion) while RI sounds more dangerous and enticing.

When I asked around, no one disagreed so I changed it.

As long as it's not too big a problem, it'll stay that way

 

You know what? I haven't even been participating in this debate, yet I'm already tired of the complaints about the novel's name. Just make it Insane Daoist Skyfarrow and forget about it. End of discussion!

Well well, I admit I do not translate book names well. I just picked a name among two that was given to me.
He is a psychopath yeah, but alright I get it, if you guys have an issue with the name I'd love to change it back but that will create a lot of hassle and I do not know how to do half of the things that are required. I didn't even set up the bots and stuff by myself, it was done by a friend.

I can only ask you guys to just move on with the name, damn it's just a name of a novel anyway..
