    Am I the only one that finds some of the phrasing used by SOME reviewers hilarious and kind of "kissassey".

    "Masterfully done"
    "Exquisitely written"
    "A modern day masterpiece"
    "Amazing, Innovating and Beautiful."

    etc etc...

    I mean sure they may actually feel that way after reading the stories, but I just find it a bit over the top.

    Edit: "Revolutionary Story."
    Edit: added SOME to main post before someone assumes I mean all :D
    Edit: I used FF because that i what RRL calls it but ok :p

    Use original fiction. FF is used for fan fiction meaning works using characters or settings created by other authors.     ​

    Review is what a person actually feels the way about it so it makes sense its written the way it is.

    It's all from the same guy making multiple accounts and copying the phrases book authors have on the back of their book. Bwuahahahaha

    I feel like even the phrase "hidden gem" has lost meaning for that site. It should just be called trending from now on, because that's basically what it is there. Whatever is popular this month is the new hidden gem.

    If they want to know what a real modern day masterpiece is, they should watch Good Will Hunting. As much as I like these stories, I'm not going to pretend that they aren't the bottom of the barrel in regards to literature.

    Better than a few months ago when all the novels were being trashed on and caused many popular Fan Fictions to end because the author saw too much hate

    I would feel flattered if someone reviewed my novel like that, but of course I wouldn't believe it. I think I've only had 3 honest reviews (at least ones who left a written review). 2 positive, 1 negative. I know my novel is cliche and has lots of grammatical errors, typos, etc (need a volunteer proofreader), so when someone reviews it as "one of the best in rrl" i can't believe it at all.

    They're amateur reviewers trying look pro, or just haven't read many novels and think they're masterpieces, idk.

    I think amateur reviewers trying to look pro pretty much sums it up. Some of the reviews are just plain disgusting the ego on some of these people is fucking absurd. (This is my opinon btw before anyone flames, and ofc it's not what I think of ALL reviews on RRL)
    Edit: No, I am not saying that I am a pro reviewer...

    You're partially right.

    I read reviews from time to time. Usually, fan fictions .. Make me feel annoyed. But, looking at the bright side, I can see the same stuff from different point of views. Beside that, they exercise their own imagination and that it's a good thing.

    If you don't like the usage of expressions like that, I've got nothing to do for you. You're expressing your 'fury'? Over the top? Ok.

    Those are the standards. Nothing blocks them to use them.

    Most of them, at the very least. There are a few good ones but that's it. They're far from literary revolution.

    Have you read, "Just a Rock"? The writer employs 'real literature' in the novel. : )
